Shipping Update

Hi folks,

Just a quick update, as I'm still awaiting the arrival of the book shipment that's been due any day now.

The good news is that the cargo ship arrived in NY/NJ on February 7th. The bad news is that, in addition to the standard 7–10 day U.S. Customs and delivery delay, I've learned that the container is now under Customs hold—the government randomly pulls various containers, moves them to secured locations, and inspects them for illegal items (i.e. drugs, fake Kate Spade bags, etc.)

According to the printer, this only happens to about 10% of the books they import each year. It's rare, but it does happen. (Lucky us, huh?) They anticipate that the delivery will only be delayed another week, and will let me know as soon as the cargo has been released.

I've been receiving a few requests for shipping ETAs from all different sources (here on Kickstarter, through Facebook, through the blog, and via email). Please follow Lost Laurel on Facebook for the most frequent updates, as it's where I post daily. I appreciate how eager everyone is to receive the book—and believe me, no one is more eager than I am! While I'm not thrilled with this latest delay either, please remember that the book is still considerably ahead of the May deadline I'd set, and will be in-hand soon. Many thanks again for your patience!
