Mini Update: Meet The Team - Nina Roussakoff

Posted by Revolution Software (Creator)

Hi guys! We have another mini update for you. This time we are happy to introduce you to Nina Roussakoff, our Community Manager. (As you can see, she's always ready for a zombie apocalypse!)

Could you introduce yourself to us?
Hi, I'm Nina and I'm the Community Manager here at Revolution.

What do you do at Revolution?
I know Community Manager is a bit of a funny job title - but it basically means that I get the pleasure of talking to all of our fans, be it about problems you're having with a game, questions about future releases, or lovely heart-warming praise of our games. I then pass on information to relevant team members, and in some cases to the whole team. I feel incredibly lucky to be working so closely with our fans each day - our community is just such a pleasure to work with!

I am also at the heart of our Kickstarter. Besides answering private messages, I keep track of pledges, rewards, and updates. When our backers have something to say, I listen, and then I take everybody's concerns to the rest of the Kickstarter team. For example, many of you asked for clarification on our Stretch Goals and some of our rewards, so we will be posting updates to cover this.

Tell us about your life before Revolution.
Before Revolution I was a 3D Content Creator and a one-woman Games Studio. Being independent is a lonely existence sometimes, so I started to organise a local Game Developer drinks night. One evening the Revolution folks joined us at the pub, and I haven't looked back since! (Pro Tip: Where there is beer, they will come!)

When did you discover Broken Sword?
Until about a year ago I had never played a Broken Sword game - so I'm a totally new convert! I played the Director's Cut on my PC and then got it for my Android phone. I used to love adventure games such as Torin's Passage and Monkey Island as a kid, so I really don't know how I managed to miss out on Broken Sword! I was worried that like a lot of old games the series wouldn't have aged particularly well - but I was pleasantly surprised. It's really amazing to think that I'll get to work on Broken Sword: the Serpent's Curse, it's going to be awesome!

Tell us something crazy about yourself.
I collect Asian ball-jointed dolls (BJDs). They are fully customisable with interchangeable and paintable parts. I particularly enjoy painting the doll's faces and spraying them with toxic chemicals. Sometimes I get slightly odd looks from my neighbours when I'm outside spraying loose hands, heads and feet in a gasmask - it must look quite sinister!

Have you joined the Order of the Goat?
Naturally. Proud to be a goat! I raise my hooves to Sara, D.C., Gösta and all the rest of my fellow goats!

Anything else you'd like to add?
Just a big thank you to all our backers for their support! I know it's cheesy, but I have really been blown away by your enthusiasm and the stream of wonderful and helpful messages. You guys are the best!

When I first saw Nina's picture, I had to double-check that Revolution didn't have any offices based in Chernobyl! :P

You're doing a great job as Community Manager Nina - I loved reading about how you got involved with the guys at Revolution. Beer solves everything doesn't it! :D

      @Ivan High five!! Alright!! ;)
@Daniel Well it's true! I think it's really wonderful that after all these years Broken Sword 1 and 2 are still drawing in new fans every day - though I wish I could share the same sense of nostalgia as many do.

@Nephente - I second Munich as the best place in Europe for beer. But I'm half-Bavarian and fairly biased to Munich, so take that for what it's worth.
