About this project
Around Our Coast Volume 1, an 88,000 mile journey around the entire UNITED STATES Coastline..to meet the brave and exciting people who live there and experience the activities and professions that go along with our fantastic country and its often rarely seen, coastline.
This is a monumental undertaking for one individual and I need you as a partner. Join Me as I venture out and around our Entire USA coastline. I dont believe anyone has acomplished this before and so far, the people and situations have been amazing. I Have begun in Gulfport Misssisspi which was so devastated by hurricane Katrina and covered 80 miles of coastline before heading to Jacksonville Florida where I have begun heading south in order to complete a few videos for a pilot, which ends in Daytona Beach, Florida a 127 mile walk. This is where I need your Support..Traversing mangroves and swamps and 87.100 more miles on this upcoming leg of the trip will require a great support group. My goal is to produce a documentary about the people and places Around our great coastline ( ALL 88300 miles of it.) & the Stories both individual and location oriented that go along with this awsome country. My Goal is to complete the journey and bring you the best and most exciting hair-raising video and books. I promise you that my life will be on the line many times as I battle the elements so I can put you in the action. There are tremendous People and places around our coastline that you you just have to meet and their stories will be great entertainment. Thanks for taking the time to visit and support this epic documentary project here at Kickstarter. Shortly after receiving approval to launch this project on Kickstarter, A cougar was captured in a trap I had installed last fall. The video and story are available at KSL.com and the Story aired on Local TV. Thursday, May 10th was the date the story aired ,after I was interviewd by local reporter Andrew Adams. My Kickstarter video shows the location of the trap. Not visible in the video, the trap is located directly behind me during my video shoot. I had an encounter with the MOUNTIAN LION on Saturday Night May 5th. At Dark while I fed our Pheasants and chickens and rabbits a evening snack, I noticed an animal 10 feet away and I smacked the cage hard with a fishing net. The lion got down on four paws and looked at me like I was kidding. I had no knife, weapon, flashlight ect. I quickly phoned my favorite shotgun wielding partner and baited the trap. The lion took the bait but failed to set off the trap. The following day, I re-baited the trap with no sucsess. Monday, May 7th, the lion came back to look for more and tripped the cage door. The phone call I recieved next on Monday at 3pm led to the shaky video footage at you tube and ksl.com. The sound is set very low as the interviewee insisted on not stressing the lion any more ..youtube has the video just search "young lion caught raiding pheasant pen in Provo,Utah" I did get my kickstarter title page into the video before it starts so you know your at the right place. Thanks for viewing and supporting my 88,000 mile journey,... PD
