About this project
This is a finished project for a custom poker card deck, developed under the summer 2013. 56 faces: everything has been redesigned, but at the same time I kept a standard index for easy readability.

GIFTS FOR SEVERAL REWARDS:
Courts, joker and aces have a dark illustration. There is a Latin text representing the card and a date with roman numerals on the top/bottom (day and month).
The pips (nr. 2 to 10) are quite standard, but the 4 suites have been changed in the following way
- Hearts are broken
- Clubs have thorns
- Diamonds are cracked
- Spades are dry leaves.
NOTICE: ALL the pips are different from each other and the yellow color you see on the prototype is supposed to be GOLDEN INK.
The 55th card shows what each card means. From the left to right: Roman numerals of the date, the Latin name, what card is it, the English translation and the date in normal numbers (day and month).
(UPDATE) AUTUMN AND WINTER DECK with different back sides.
>>> ONLY ONE RUN - NO REPRINT IN THE FUTURE <<<
Requiem Card Deck will exist only here on KickStarter. There will not be a reprint. I cannot say the exact number of decks I will order, but many of you know that the minimum quantity at USPCC to print a custom decks is 2500 pieces, so that´s the starting point.
Anyway, if this campaign goes well, and I print 2500 or 3000 or 4000, it will be only for one time.I will share this information with all the backers.
There will only be 3000 decks in total (1500+1500) unless KS users pledge for more during this 30-days campaign.
I want to give the chance to the backers to get as many as they want, but remember that is only for one time. It will not exist a Requiem2, or another version of Requiem with a different date made by me.
Requiem itself tells a story that my soul DOES NOT want to repeat.

UPDATE! WE HAVE THE GOLDEN BACKER
The 56th card is the Golden Backer. The portrait of this backer is the 3rd joker and it will be a celebration of the Requiem. Celebratio in Latin. (see update #30 for more details).
The golden backer will get EVERYTHING, including prototype Requiem deck 2013 and Gran Riserva deck (30 pieces in total).

ESTIMATED TIME AND DELIVERY - APRIL 2014
This part is not really depending on me. The artworks are done and the tweaks are fast (a couple of days in total).
What will slow down the production is the entire process itself from the final approval at USPCC's Legal Dept. A pre-approval is ongoing already, but it´s a big company and they take their time.
They say 5-6 weeks for the production of the decks and the boxes, then the shipping to a US based distributor, then the job of the distributor to process the orders and finally the American Postal service will spread the decks all over the universe.
The t-shirts, the uncut sheets and the prints might arrive even before the estimated delivery date. It depends by the quantity and - again - from USPCC. But they will be made and signed here in Stockholm, so I have to go through them by myself, print them, prepare the packages and then send them with the efficient Swedish postal service.

Risks and challenges
This is supposed to be a "standard procedure" since printing a custom poker card deck is not a new technology. The deck will be printed by USPCC, so it will have the best finishing and quality ever. I'm in touch with them to see if I need to do some tweak and change (Queen of Diamonds for example). I´m in touch with collectors and designers with a deep knowledge of custom cards. Plus I have 15 years expertise in graphic design, illustration and printing processes. Many things might go wrong, you never know, the devil is in the details. I´ll keep my eyes open and follow every single step of the project to make it real.
