This "quicky" Kickstarter includes a realistic 28mm-scale Modular castle - and a bunch of siege machines to destroy it with!
As usual, you'll get the quality and attention to detail that Renaissance Miniatures are renowned for. We've had three highly successful Terrain Kickstarters already, and we're ready to expand our range still further with this line of Castle models.
All of our models are pre-painted and delivered in easy-to-assemble kit form. All you need is a craft knife and some woodworking glue and you're ready to go.
Our previous kickstarter was widely (and correctly!) criticized for being too complex with too many rewards - so this time we're heading the opposite way. Just a dozen easy to understand reward levels...plus some stretch goals and freebies if we go far past our goal. We're running this quickly (20 days!) and with a low goal level. We expect to be able to deliver this one quickly but without compromising our reputation for quality, ease of construction and world-class customer service.
We know that you'll be interested in our other Medieval products to go with your castle, and for that reason, we'll be offering 15% off prices for our Medieval Village series at our online store for the duration of this Kickstarter. We'll also be 'refreshing' that series with some new buildings and couple of "decor packs" that'll improve the look of whatever models you already have from our first successful Kickstarter.
Since this is a shorter-than-normal project, we'd greatly appreciate any "Getting The Word Out" activities you can help us out with.
REWARD LEVEL SUMMARY:
DECOR PACKS AND ADD-ONS:
These castle sets are very modular - you can rearrange them into multiple configurations. Since everyone seems to have a different idea of what a castle should look like, optional decorative elements ("decor packs") will be unlocked at higher stretch-goal/bonus levels.
REWARD LEVEL CONTENTS:
The Attacker Pack contains: Two Mantlets, Two Ballistae, Two Catapults, One Battering Ram, One Wheeled Siege Ladder and One Siege Tower.
The Lone Tower includes one Tower and one staircase pack for interior or exterior access.
The Small Castle: Includes four towers, three curtain walls, one castle entrance and two staircase packs (one wood, one stone).
The Medium Castle: Includes six towers, five curtain walls, one castle entrance and two staircase packs (one wood, one stone).
The Large Castle: Includes seven towers, a castle keep, seven curtain walls, one castle entrance and four staircase packs (two wood, two stone).

The walls of the towers have windows that can be punched out to form doorways - so you can decide how easily people may move around the structure.
Our previous building models could be a little fiddly to remove and refit the upper floors and roofs. With a subtle (sub-millimeter) chamfer on the interlocking tabs, the upper floors and roofs fit easily into place - yet remain perfectly aligned and stable. This is our first model series to use this improvement - but we'll be retro-fitting it to our older kits as time permits.
Risks and challenges
Our previous Kickstarters have all delivered everything we promised and more - and although our time estimates are not always perfect we always ensure that our backers are happy. With that history, and our investment in capital equipment for our business, there is really no risk that we won't deliver - and you can already see the quality of the final product in our photographs.
This time, because the range of product is limited and the goal is set low enough that we're sure of making it, we're going to start production BEFORE the Kickstarter ends - so we'll be able to commence shipment of some of the rewards on the day we get the survey results in without the usual couple of months of run-up time. If we're hugely over-subscribed, then we'll take a little longer - but with this limited set of rewards we don't anticipate long delivery times.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
