So, I'm ready to write off the fact that I'll never be getting this book. I just hope I'm not the only one because that will make a sucky situation even suckier.
Another 6 months, and still no book or any word.
Hello again! I never got an answer from the e-mail... I've insisted a little and no answer. Ray, Renae, please help!
@Chris - Just sent you a message.
And still nothing.
Sian - I'm sending you a message right now. Sorry if I missed anything.
Hi Ray, Could I please get an update I have sent a few emails and I did include the IDW's shipping manager but I have yet to hear back or recieve the book.
Chris- I'm really sorry you didn't hear back from IDW's shipping manager and if I missed any messages. I'll give it another shot.
So, I was CCed with IDW's shipping manager, and that was the last I heard. I sent a private message back in July, 2 months after that E-Mail, to that fact, and had no response. Now it's October. No responses. No updates. No book.
Just sent you a reply in private messages and attached you to an email with IDW's shipping manager. So it should be taken care of soon.
Thanks so much for your patience! Have a great day!
Guys, I've also never received my book =o
I've actually been out of the loop, and since I've seen other projects get some delay, I wasn't really worried. But I just noticed how long it has been, since the books are around, can you guys check out what could have gone wrong with mine?
I'm not sure if it was sent (I couldn't find any tracking reference in my e-mails, but I could have overlooked it), and if it was sent there's always the possibility that Brazilian mail service might have messed things up, as they are prone to do, on occasion.
Thank you very much!
Shaun - Looks like you had the sketchbook. I'll check in on that today and message you.
Andrew - Sorry if you didn't receive a message, I'll message you now. The situation is still the same, we won't stop until everyone has their books. Renae's health prevents her from handling it herself, but I'm doing my best to get any of the books that have slipped through the cracks on top of my own work. Messaging you now.
Priscilla - Really sorry if I've missed your emails. I'll find it and reply with Thomas and try to get this fixed asap.
I was curious if there was any way to get an update on my book
Its June 2014, and backers still haven't received books.
If anyone else is following, Ray has not contacted me as stated below and my mailing address has not changed since I joined kickstarter.
916 days since I submitted my survey (with the correct information)
1033 days since the projected was funded
"I said very early on I will not stop until everything is completely finalized, and I stand true to that. I will be here, taking care of Womanthology first until all is completely done."
Renae De Liz - Update 18
I'm an Australian backer of the $50 of more pledge (Hand numbered copy of Womanthology #400 and up) and have still yet to receive the book. I've emailed Thomas before and just emailed him again to follow up. Ray, I've CCed you in the email.
Hope to get my hands on the book soon :(
Chris - I sent you an email attached with Thomas, the shipping manager for IDW, if you didn't get that, please let me know in a private message and we'll get it work out.
Glad to see more special editions arriving at their homes! :D
I was supposed to get one of the 400 numbered editions of the book and still haven't gotten a thing. I have sent several E-Mails but haven't gotten a response. What am I supposed to do here?
Yeah, I finally got mine also.
Got mine - they exist!
So... about those tracking numbers...
Andrew - Cua was obviously a typo, but sorry for posting your full name. Didn't realize anyone would care. Just wanted to make sure I was giving thorough updates. I also said I'd be contacting you directly, and I will. At which time I'll verify your current address. You might want to update the address in your profile.
Hope you have a great weekend too!
Not even going to get mad...
That you didn't verify my address before sending,
Or my last name is wrong in the list below (Im going on a limb that I am supposed to be Andrew Cua, no other Andrew C__s on the backers list),
Or that you couldn't contact me knowing that I have been waiting,
Or you published full names of backers, we have control of our public profile names for a reason.
Consider this me contacting you, but glad you left a 'note' in the message as I didn't receive any message from you directly.
Have a great weekend!
CAMILLA SKETCH EDITION UPDATE: Books have been shipped to the people listed in the last update! I'll be sending tracking numbers asap.
This comment has been removed by Kickstarter.
Update on that. Sent out messages to everyone in the CAMILLA reward category asking for updated addresses. The last one we sent only got a couple of replies, so maybe there was an error there, but if you could all please reply to the Kickstarter message I just sent out with your updated address we can get them mailed early this week.
@Calliope - So glad you got your book and liked the sketch! And thank you for taking the time to post the news in here. :D
@Anthony - I'm sorry you're frustrated with the wait. I understand. We had a further delay after my update on March 12th, but are ready to ship early this week. And everyone should have gotten a request for an updated address, but if not I'll send again.
And that should finish the project off. If anyone else has not received your book or reward, please send me a message and I'll get you taken care of.
Thank you for your patience and support of the project.
On March 12th, Ray said: "CAMILLA COPIES will be shipping out next week!"
Two weeks later. No address update request, no shipping notification, no updates of any kind.
@Andrew C, I imagine they're not responding to my comments because they likely feel I'm being a jack***. Which isn't far from the truth. I'm sure that all of us who haven't received our book have a pretty good reason to be at some level upset. Every time I've ever gotten a response (even when I was still being polite) all I've ever got was a comment pushing responsibility onto others or some vague remark about what the status was with what turned out to be a false statement about delivery times.
I'll probably be more surprised to actually get the book than I am at any continued delay at this point. Even trying to apply the theory of discrete probability couldn't help us get an actual estimate of anything happening. We might have a better chance at winning the lotto!
Hello Renae! Thank you for the lovely sketch in the book! Thank you Ray & Thomas for quick responses to my check ups. (The book dropped in the mailbox exactly on 31st dec 2013 :)
Just confirmation, I just sent emails to Sian and Andrew. If anyone else has an inquiry, please send me an email at RayDillonGGS@gmail.com and I'll get you taken care of.
Sian - I'll email you right now and make sure you get a copy.
Andrew - You should have yours. I'll email you and we'll get to the bottom of it. Please keep your comments about the status of the book, not personal. Yes, I am the one responding to inquiries about the book. Renae has to avoid stress as much as possible for health reasons. Please respect that. Thank you. And, yes, True Detective IS amazing. Hope you check it out!
As for everyone else, All CIRCUIT EDITIONS have been sent so you should have them or be receiving them soon (Canada and Australia seem to take the longest).
CAMILLA COPIES will be shipping out next week! And a huge thank you to her and her manager for working so hard on those and getting them back to us! Great people!
March update, nothing yet.
I love how Ray just skips over Anthony's comment to answer the one underneath.
I guess Renae is busy on Twitter to respond to us personally but I hear True Detective is amazing.
I have emailed a few times and have not heard back. I backed the
Pledge $50 or more
378 backers Limited (122 left of 500)
Copy of the Womanthology book! This will be hand numbered starting from #400 and up! See REWARD FAQS for more information!
In Melbourne (Australia) I have seen shops with this book yet I still don't have mine. Can you please tell me when I am to receive it or even a email back.
Alison - Since yours is a regular copy, I just need to get the shipping guy for IDW to send you a new one. I'll email you with him attached now. Sorry for the delay!
So, we should be seeing that form in about six months given history and the book in maybe another 18 months.
It isn't a signed one, just numbered. I'm in the UK. Are there specific problems for us? I got the sketchbook at the time in 2011/2012 and I can see from the survey on here you have had my correct address all this time. To be really honest, I don't really mind if it isn't numbered. It beginning to cost me more chasing this than the cost of the book.
Hi there, I'm still waiting for my book. I've sent in my address at least 3 times, and have not moved. Is there any chance of the book being sent to me?
We now have Camilla's books and will be sending those out asap. First we will send a form around to make sure we have everyone's current addresses.
Hope you're all doing well! Thank you for your continued patience!
Hey Anthony, while I agree that they need to confirm addresses lets see if they even respond to our posts.
@Andrew C. Nope. technically, they should send out a request for address again since it's been almost two years since the book was finished. Some of us have moved.
Looks like indolence has won again! Way to keep us all in the loop Renae & Ray!
Tracking number, anyone get one?
Happy Holidays, everyone! Ray, Renae's husband here.
We're shipping out a big batch of special editions (signed/sketched, circuits, etc) today. And Camilla's manager has the money for shipping. I'm sure they're super busy with the holiday season but we should be getting those back soon and then we can start shipping them to you!
If there are still any regular copies (particularly international) that haven't made it to you, please email the shipping manager firstname.lastname@example.org and feel free to attach me RayDillonGGS@gmail.com so I can stay on top of it, too.
Hey, everyone! Ray, Renae's husband, here again.
Happy to see that you're getting your books at last!
CAMILLA SKETCHES - We should be getting these all from Camilla's manager next week and start shipping them out.
ALL TYPES OF CIRCUIT EDITIONS - We will definitely have these shipped out before Christmas. BUT, for INTERNATIONAL copies we can't guarantee how long they'll take to arrive only that we will have them shipped out and will send tracking info.
Thank you for your patience. Sorry if there has been frustration from the complications and delay we've had. Finally done with that though. And thanks again for supporting!
Hope everyone is having happy holidays!
I have been quiet pretty long on this -- because I understand health and family come first, but it has been over 2 years and I feel that is more than enough time for me to start complaining.
We backed this project, which went $75k over the goal. Now, I understand they don't have money now, but that should not be our problem to fix. We paid for these to get shipped to us. We paid a lot. A long time ago. And we deserve to have our books. The artists are not to blame here, and I feel like every update has been blaming the artists.
We deserve to get what we paid for -- if you have to take out a loan to get these to us, that's what you need to do because if you don't have money, it means you spent our money on other things and that's not fair to everybody who is waiting.
I live near-ish to the Canadian border -- and if I could get help with the gas money, I would be happy to drive up there and bring the books with Camilla's sketches back to the US and send them to folks for a lower shipping cost. At the very least, allow Camilla and her assistants to contact people and see if they are willing to pay to have theirs shipped directly. But you shouldn't be *expecting* people who have already paid a lot of money for this project, to pay for shipping on something we shouldn't have to pay more for. The extensive amount of time we've waited should be payment enough, and this needs to be taken care of. For those willing to pay, though, the information needs to be available to get this sorted out.
If there is anything I can do to help get these out to people, PLEASE contact me. I know I can get my copy if I pay for shipping, but I don't feel right getting mine if there are still people waiting, when this should have been taken care of long ago.
I was waiting on an Artist Circuit eidtion and it has arrived, although I did not receive any tracking info, it just showed up shortly after Ray posted that they would be going out with only 2 signatures.
Nope. Still waiting. If they're consistent on anything it's the continued poor communication and failure to meet their own deadlines and set expectations (see Oct.12 post).
Re the remaining books has anyone received a tracking number?
I still haven't received anything.
Veronika, I agree, don't judge all Kickstarter projects by the disaster that this one has been. I have backed many comic book projects and have had very few problems, and none like this with such a poor level of communication. Congrats on at least getting your book, I still haven't received mine.
Andrew, The reason Veronika had to get her book directly from Camilla (and pay $54 to have it shipped to her - see, she paid, not her "persistence") is because Ray and Renae do not have any money to pay for the books to be shipped from Canada to the US. This issue is all about money. Camilla should not be on the hook to pay for the shipping of the books after already donating her time to do the sketches. Contributors were not paid for their work or their time.
Ray and Renae are hoping to find a cheap way to get the books back to them so that they can in turn send them out.
Hi Veronika, So glad to hear that you got your book. Not sure why you had to work personally with Camilla and her staff but your persistence paid off.
Re never backing another KS project, do not base your decision on this project. It has been a horrible experience for a number of people. There are a number of responsible creators out there, Camilla had her own project that was fulfilled very quickly and had a great result.
This morning I have finally received my book. I paid $54 to get it posted over by Camilla's fantastic assistant Tasha. Thank you so much Tasha!
So, two years late, here it finally is! Was it worth it? Yes, purely for the Camilla sketch alone. But really, it all cost me not just the $200 but masses of my personal time. If I was charging for the time I wasted chasing things up, then no, it would not have been worth it.
Would I ever fund another Kickstarter project? NEVER AGAIN!
If Renee and Ray feel like refunding me the postage cost, that would be absolutely fantastic ($54 Canadian, thank you). But I am not holding my breath.
