Hey everyone! We are Remain—a Denton, TX-based band. If this is your first time meeting us, let us just say that we are pleased to make your acquaintance. If we’ve previously met, thanks for stopping by, it’s good to see you again! As we said in the video above, we’ve been a band since 2014. In the past five years we’ve played a slew of shows, worked hard to build a resume, and are finally beginning to discover the true “Remain” sound.
In the Fall of 2015, we recorded our debut EP "The World Beyond." The EP was recorded at Reeltime Audio in Denton, TX with the Grammy-award- winning producer/engineer Eric Delegard.
In March of 2016 we secured management by signing with Robert Speed Productions and "The World Beyond" went on to have singles featured on local stations DentonRadio.com as well as 97.1 The Eagle. In addition, our single "Speed" was featured on The Deuce Radio Shows originating in the UK and was featured on multiple radio shows in Europe, Australia, and North America.
In late 2017 we released our single "Millennial Nation" which also aired on multiple radio shows worldwide. In early 2018, “Millennial Nation” was picked up by Bongo Boy Records and included on a compilation album entitled ‘Alternative Rock Mach One.’In conjunction with this release, we were named by The Dentonite as one of Denton's 15 Music Acts Making Moves in 2018!
Shortly thereafter we concocted the idea of writing our first full-length album around the concept of what a Millennial Nation is, and what it means to live in that place in this time. We immediately got to work writing, headed back to Reeltime Audio, and already have three songs of this ten-song album finished. The remaining seven songs are written and ready to be laid down but, it costs…
Your support will keep us in the studio, help pay for mixing and mastering, help us design album artwork, aid us in making the music available on all platforms, and propel us forward to see how many people we can reach with this new album.
The goal of Remain has always been simple really: 1) Build a great band 2) Write great songs 3) Have places to play those songs where they will be heard. We are currently redefining our sound and strengthening our lineup as we seek an additional guitarist. We will also be adding keys to this album, which calls for a new band member as well. We believe in these new songs and cannot wait to share them with you. So, if you’re new to the Remain family, you picked a great time to come aboard!!
Bruce Springsteen once said, “the job of a Rock ‘n’ Roll band is to witness what’s going on, then go testify.” It’s already 2019, Rock ‘n’ Roll is alive and well, and there’s plenty of work to be done by noisemakers like us. First off, we’d like to say that this album is not based on an intergenerational feud, nor the quieting of those who came before and will come after. Also, this is not necessarily an album about who we are as much as it’s about who we can become. Is it based on American life at the beginning of this second millennium? Yes. Does it represent all Millennials and accurately gauge the pulse of all who are coming to age in this generation? That would be impossible.
Writing this album has proved that “Millennial Nation” has no singular definition, it has many. We are all individuals with different stories to tell, and unwritten futures to uncover. The future’s wide open. It’s like a book of blank pages waiting for the rest of a story, our story, the story of all Americans, to be written. This album, we hope, is one of those chapters.
Thanks for your support in bringing "Millennial Nation" alive, and remember... Remain loves ya!!
Risks and challenges
We face the challenge of completing the album in accordance with a reasonable timeline, wrapping up album artwork, and solidifying the songs in a timely manner so our backers will not face too long of a delay in receiving what they choose to preorder.
