Have a question?
I got my game this week, after contacting Sandro at firstname.lastname@example.org - remember to send your pledge level and current address!
still no game! very dissapointing :-(
I haven't received any yet!?
Oh, I should mention that when the game shipped, I got a confirmation email from Ship Naked (email@example.com). I hadn't ever received anything like that before, and it was reassuring. (There was no tracking number, but that's fair enough).
I just received my "Democracy" box. Here's the story: I hassled Mark Rein-Hagen via Facebook, and he suggested I should email his assistants, Sandro Gakhokidze and Robert Cooper, at Make Believe Games, using the firstname.lastname@example.org address.
After waiting for a while (the right people weren't in town?), they hooked up via Facebook chat, confirmed who I was, found my name on a list of people who "Game Salute were having trouble finding", and arranged a reship. All in all, it took about a month to sort out: two weeks to talk to the right folk, and two weeks after that for the game to ship to the UK. Can't complain.
tl/dr: If you haven't received your game, email email@example.com and Robert or Sandro will help you. If you're on Facebook, you may find communication gets even easier.
I saw on BGG that many people got their copy... what happend to the rest of us?
Still waiting on Secret Agenda cards
So, any news when the game will ship to UK backers? Sounds like some lucky folk have received their copies.
so any news when the game will arrive?
Well, I FINALLY got my game this week! And I realised that my first copy of the game when everyone else got theirs was in fact never sent at all, since GS sends out an automated message when the game ships, and I only received one this time. (Dalriada, did you ever get one of these?)
All the deceptions have left a pretty sour taste in my mouth, but the game looks as if it could be quite good.
Can't believe I'll actually be playing it soon after the years of waiting!
I still have not received my game, or any response to my recent messages. I was promised that if my game did not arrive by the end of Feb, a new copy would be sent directly from Georgia. I sent two reminders in March, but they have been ignored.
I will be reporting this project to Kickstarter if I do not receive confirmation within a week that a game has been sent to me.
It was bad enough waiting through the years of delays while the project was completed, but now everyone else has their copies and I am still waiting. I could have purchased it directly from GS without all the years of misery and been playing it by now.
Still waiting on Secret Agenda cards. We are still here!

Dalriada, my game still hasn't arrived either. I got an amazingly quick response to my PM, which said that Mark would chase GS up immediately.... and then a whole lot of silence :(
Am about to try again...
Got my game last week (Jan 5th or so) after Game Salute notified me in late december that they had gotten it returned (wrong address) and asked for an address update. Both my regular and party copy arrived in good condition.
I honestly hadn't followed any drama on here and almost forgot I'd ordered this. Needless to say after following up i expected the worst and perhaps, because my expectations were low, I was actually very pleased. Played a real game tonight with some close gaming friends and we all really enjoyed it. The rules were clear, as gamers we understood the value of some more obtuse things (like turn order) and tweaked a couple of house rules that we felt were within the stated "intent", such as fixing turn order if Bureaucracy calls for it. We had great fun and all want to play again.
It was longer then expected, Lawmakers really need to push hard to keep the pace of play up. We're going to try harder next time to keep negotiating rounds to 1 minute each.
@ Jamie: I got an answer recently by PM-ing on here. Still waiting for a follow-up message from them a week later though...
I never received my meeples refund - anyone know an email that they will reply to?
I placed another order with Game Salute long after Democracy was supposed to have been sent. The other games arrived over a week ago. Still no trace of Democracy.
Have PM-ed Mark asking for an explanation...
And the wait here in China goes on.
Any word on the Secret Agenda cards?
Still nothing received. Not a little bit surprised, or even disappointed.
Never mind party game rules - my copy of the game would be great!
Still waiting. And I had no change of address to deal with.
PARTY GAME rules would be great! :) Does anybody know, where to find them?
Mine arrived in OZ today.
Has anyone seen the rules for the party format? The website in the printed rules does not seem to exist.
Still haven't gotten mine as Mark shipped it to the incorrect address . I was told that I would get a new shipment sent but that was a week ago. I've emailed three times since and still radio silence regarding when I should be receiving my re-shipment . I doubt I'll ever get this before it hits retail shelves which is a shame
I've received my package a while ago, but managed to pick it up only yesterday. Everything was there, sans the Secret Agendas - but that's OK.
Thank you for fulfilling your project, despite the problems and challenges. It'll take a while before I get to play it, simply because there's too many things happening right now that take me away from gaming my time away :-) Well, the winter break is coming, so... there's hope!
I think it's been quite a ride/lesson for everyone involved in this project. I knew that KS is not a shop, so waiting (even if it took so long) was not a big deal. I just really wanted to play the game, and I know I still will. You must have learned what the KS community can be like, in all possible ways.
I don't think anyone meant to be disrespectful and inconsiderate on either side, and I do hope you will put out more games, either through KS or someplace else.
Once again, thank you for not pulling a Clang! on us. That was one long story of excellent marketing and a lofty goal, never to be reached.
Full disclosure for those who suspect I've been sent here to sprinkle happy pixie dust on your salty wounds: no, I am not MRH's friend or lackey, I'm just being human here. We met briefly only once, during Essen Spiel, where I got to see a demo version of Democracy and got interested enough to chip in.
Got the package. Unpacked shipping carton and put game components in the bottom of my game trunk. I'll eventually try it when I'm no longer seething in hatred of this project.
Packaging looked good. Nothing appeared damaged. All components present.
Got mine yesterday - looks good
Got mine today here in Germany via British Post - anyway, customs declaration with worng vlaue would have been a bit trouble ...
@Dalriada @Gorm Reventlow
I got a shipping number via USPS my game just got delayed in customs because of the Silkroad mess.
But now it is in my home.
Has anyone seen a booklet for playing with more players or anything about scenarios?
Finally received the game!! I can't believe it... I must be dreaming! I know I have been hard on Mark and this whole kickstarter. I doubt that would have been the case, if honesty and openness had been the norm of this kickstarter, instead of the poor and often dubious communication.
However, one should also acknowledge quality when it is presented and in this case then the game itself in feel and look is fantastic. Now I just need to try and I hope that the game mechanics can deliver a good game that can help wipe away the nasty feeling I get when I look at the game...
@Jerome: Just saw your very nice note. Best wishes back. Message me if and when you are attending any event in the USA at any point in the future, like GenCon, and if we both happen to be in the same place at the same time we will definitely have to play a game!
May I suggest Penny Press? :)
sorry I meant outside of the US. I live in Denmark
@Dalriada I think that we that live outside of EU will not get a shipping number.
@Robert what didn't you like about the game
The game arrived, and just as I expected it just caused me to vomit in my mouth. It went right into the recycling bin. Not even going to give Reindothagen the pleasure of burning it.
Fuck you Mark, fuck you very much.
Played it today, it's a lot of fun. There are a couple of rules that don't seem to make much sense. I'm not sure why turn order matters for the Head Administrator in the Promotion step since people are able to take moves back and rearrange themselves multiple times. All in all a good game, but horrible management. Hope everyone who didn't get their addresses changed were able to work that out!
Is the party pack a standalone copy of the game or an add on to the original box?
I have my copy of of the game. I can scarcely believe it! It looks good and well put together. Mark it seems is far better at designing games than he is organizing the production or despatch of them. All I can hope is the game plays well and that Mark has learned from his mistakes on this project so backers of I Am Zombie and Havoc are not left in the same position were were. My thanks and best wishes to the friends I have made during this frustrating wait, Robert Dijkman Dulkes,Matthew Titelbaum, Brendan Power and Jeffrey Reed. Hope to chat to you more when we back future projects or perhaps over a game in person one day!
Democracy arrived today in England. No Secret Agenda cards, but I'm just happy that it finally arrived. It looks really nice, which is a bonus :)
Got mine, hooray! Box looks great, but as you say, no hidden agenda cards either. Mark, you must be ecstatic this is finally over or just about
Got mine today. Our long national nightmare is over.
