About this project
Ola! I have very exciting news for you!!!
Independent recording artists, "NIBBA," has been invited to tour this summer, bringing our message of hope through music. Being "indie" artists means that you do not have the financial support of a major record label, so we are solely dependant on the generosity of others, like you, for our tour support.
I learned about "Kickstarter" from some friends who accompanied me on a recent trip to rural Haiti where we are involved in an ongoing community development project. They were successful in raising support for their photo-documentary project, and I thought it would be a perfect way to invite you, my family, friends, and future friends to support this awesome opportunity to tour with NIBBA.
We are kicking off the tour in Guilford, New Hampshire on August 1st through the 4th. Three days later...We will be taking off to bring our music and message to SAO PAULO, BRAZIL!!! We will be on tour for two full weeks, and have a very busy schedule ahead of us. In addition to playing music, we will also have the opportunity to visit with nursery school children, youth participating in after school projects, residents at an elder care facility, and make appearances to play and speak with private school, public school, and university level students bringing our message of hope for a brighter future!!!
I am inviting you to partner with us financially in this amazing opportunity. We need to raise the financial support to assist us in covering our travel expenses, visa application fees, accommodations, and food. We will be very respectful of every donation, no matter how large or small. Any support is GREATLY appreciated and we want to thank you in advance for considering us worthy of your support!!!
Kickstarter is a new way to fund creative projects. We believe that a good idea, communicated well, can spread fast and wide, a large group of people can be a tremendous source of money and encouragement. Kickstarter is powered by a unique "all-or-nothing" funding method where projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands.
Why does Kickstarter use an "all or nothing" funding method? Why not just give the project what is pledged?
Every Kickstarter project must be fully funded before its time expires or no money changes hands. Why?
1. It's less risk for everyone. If you need $5,000, it's tough having $2,000 and a bunch of people expecting you to complete a $5,000 project.
2. It allows people to test concepts (or conditionally sell stuff) without risk. If you don't receive the support you want, you're not compelled to follow through. This is huge!
3. It motivates. If people want to see a project come to life, they're going to spread the word.
