"My honey for your money / It's an exchange of power.
I am a corporation / I get paid by the hour.
It's my gift to the world / Voyeuristic invasion,
I am a role model / Voice of a generation."
- from I Made a Sex Tape, Reema Zaman's debut single.
People have been talking . . .
"A terrific and shocking commentary on all that is wrong with our culture."- Melissa Ericco, Broadway Extraordinaire, mother of Victoria, age 5, and twins Diana and Juliet, age 3.
"It. Just. Needs. To. Happen." - Jennie Withers, world renowned Macrobiotic Chef, mother of Victory Alexander, age 2.
"Not only is it amazing - it's extremely brave. Instead of being just another pretty face . . . she's choosing to question the game." - Naheed Brown, Demi-Goddess, 1st grade Teacher, mother of Shehtaaz, age 24, Raya, 16, and myself, 27.
"And if the moms are behind it, you know Oprah will be too. " - Chooses to Remain Anonymous (Hint: She lives in a big House. It is White.)
Ever wondered what would happen if Angelina Jolie and The Lonely Island had a love-child, and Lady Gaga, in all her Mother Monster glory, was the midwife?
Without further adieu, presenting Reema Zaman and her debut single, I Made a Sex Tape. Both puppeteer and puppet, a genre-bending, border-blending artist of unprecedented nature who wants and will, do it all. Combined with a song that is satirical and smart, part performance-art, part pop, part rap, part club hit, and 1000% awesomeness, we guarantee that you have never seen, heard, or felt anything like this before. We have already recorded the song ... What we need now is a phenomenal music video. And for that, we need your help.

The entire team of professionals are fully committed to this project pro bono. This is because we absolutely believe in the inevitable success of I Made a Sex Tape, and in the strength of each others' work. We have finalized our timeline, shoot-dates, locations, and crew. We have drawn up our storyboards. We have signed and dated each perfect, divine costume design. All we need is a little nest egg. Our project goal is $7,000. Any contribution is valuable and greatly appreciated. (The above teaser video was shot on Reema's iPhone, and edited on iMovie '09 - simply imagine what we will do with an actual budget.) Were we to raise more than our project goal, those funds would also be extremely beneficial, and will be used for distribution, promotion and other post-production needs.
To reiterate, this project is complete satire and pop-culture commentary. I Made a Sex Tape is part of a larger body of work that I have been cultivating over the last two years. My larger game-plan, if you will. This song and music video serve as a prologue to a television series I have been developing this past year entitled Empire of Me. It is the consequent life and times of "Sex Tape Girl" (whose name is "Gigi", by the way). The show explores the deliciously gruesome underbelly of the acting, music and modeling industries. There are also four other fully-realized and written songs that are part of this package. The goal for this music video is that it will serve as a diving board, and will grab the attention of the necessary/appropriate studios, investors, etc. We will use that momentum to continue producing the other projects.
Therefore, the music video has been thoroughly, delicately conceived, art directed and story-boarded. Our music video will directly reflect our larger creative motivation and business trajectory: to produce work of meaning, quality and intelligence. Our artistic agenda as a company is to create pieces that deal with powerful iconography, ideas and messages.
Furthermore, this song and music video is the first project that bears the Reema Zaman brand. I am fully aware of the fact that it must be planned, packaged and executed with the utmost care and meticulous attention to detail. By "it" I mean the video, my company, my brand, my public image, look and persona. I would never, ever dishonor my family nor compromise my integrity and that of my team members' by producing work that does not uphold certain ideals and standards of intelligence and sophistication. I recognize and respect the tremendous responsibility that comes trying to produce a project, and a brand, of this scope and scale. I have been thinking about this and working towards these goals since I was 14 years old.
Thank you so much for your time and support.
Allow me to introduce . . .
Reema Zaman - Artist, Writer, Producer
Born in Bangladesh, and raised in Hawaii and Thailand, Reema learned from a very young age that in order to make one's goals and dreams come true, great lengths must be traveled. Whether it was playing the eponymous role of Medea in Taipei at the age of 17, or from the age of 14 through college, working in a Thai orphanage for children with cerebral palsy, she has always been cognizant of the fact that hard work, when paired with compassion, has the power to transform a person's day. She holds a Double Bachelor's Degree in Theater and Gender Studies from Skidmore College, graduated Summa Cum Laude, and has worked professionally as an actress, writer, model and singer since 2006. She speaks Bengali, French, Thai and English, and, with two parents who are teachers that run marathons on the side, and another parent, a United Nations' diplomat, she has been schooled in tenacity, elegance, public service, and socio-political affairs. Conveniently, the skill set needed to become a cultural ambassador, a Bond Girl, and a global sensation. For more information, please visit www.reemazaman.com.
