A Little Bit About Us...
We are a of a troupe of passionate artists dedicated to the pursuit of artistic growth. Our company focuses mainly on original work and producing social justice pieces. Our mission is to create and share art with the community as we continue to grow and discover more about ourselves as artists.
A few years ago, some passionate theater students dreamed of creating an original show. It all started one fine day, when a small group of thespian friends decided that they wanted to put on a Star Wars Musical! What started out as some spray painted costumes and campy choreography, soon turned into a full blown parody musical! It was one of the most exhilarating and stressful experiences of our theatrical careers! To create something out of completely nothing! Our small group of friends raised enough money to create a “tastefully low-budget” production in a makeshift black box theater in the back of a ballet studio.
Our mission is to create and produce art for the community as we continue to grow and discover more about ourselves as artists.
This year a good friend of ours approached us saying that she had written her own Star Wars parody, "The Farce Awakens". With our success of "The Force" the musical in 2015, we knew that our theatre company and her new musical were a perfect match for each other.
"The Farce Awakens" Will be our first full musical in our new, permanent location. We are in the middle of remodeling the building to make the doorways and bathroom handicap accessible, and are excited to bring this new performance space to our community.
As a non-profit theatre company, funding musicals can be difficult, but we hope that with your help, we can bring "The Farce Awakens" to life!
Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
May the Farce, be with you.
Risks and challenges
Our biggest challenge is that we are making our sets, props, and costumes by hand. This is a process that will consume a lot of time and money which, (as a group of young adults who are in between jobs and classes), is hard to come by.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
