The game consists of 110 cards, a 60 second sand timer and a dice (for when you want to follow the more challenging option). There are enough cards in one box for up to 10 people play, but for larger groups all you need is extra voting cards (from another box) to incorporate more players. Whilst is is possible to play with over 100 players it would probably be a bit silly.
Please be aware that all photos of the game are of the prototype/preview copy of the game, and there are some slight changes with the final version - most noticeably the box will be in 2 parts and the dice and timer will be able to fit inside it!
Vote ME! is a vocal party game for three or more players, split into Parties and can take from about 10-15 minutes (3 round game, a few players) up to 90 minutes (9 rounds, 7+ players). Each round has three steps:
1) Draw cards - the area card that is being contested and the Policy and Theme card for the round
2) Give speeches - one player from each party has to give a 1 minute speech based on the rounds Policy and Theme
3) All players vote for the Party (other than their own) that they thought gave the best speech. The Party with the most votes wins the area card. At the end of the game, the Party with the most area cards wins.
The Policy cards cover things you would normally expect to see in an election, and are there to provide a focus for the speech. The Theme cards provide additional flavour for the speech content, and normally, the only the title of the Theme card is used, with the 6 options used as inspiration. However, if you want to add a bit more of a challenge to your game, you can roll a dice and use the corresponding option to the number rolled as the theme.
Things you need to know
This is a re-run on Kickstarter based on feedback we received when at AireCon in March (most people we spoke said we ought to run it again, so we have), and whilst things look very similar to the last campaign, there are some key differences.
1) This is not to fund the printing of the game, but to pay for the delivery of the game and to fund the printing of the game mats
2) What do I mean "not fund the printing of the game"?
We have got funding from a different source that paid for an initial print run. The designs are currently AT the printers and delivery to us in Sheffield is expected in early/middle May 2018. However, we still have to pay for the delivery costs of a sizeable number of games, as this wasn't covered. In addition, the project will cover the costs to get the Vote ME! game mat printed , as the game mats are being made to a different company than the one printing the game.
3) Delivery options have changed. We have opened up delivery to rest of the world for most pledges. Anyone living near Sheffield or able to collect at UK Games Expo will get free delivery. All other locations will be charged after the Campaign has ended, once I know final weights of the game, and which countries I need to work out delivery to.
More info about the game, but from other sources!
We were at Dragonmeet in December where Dem Drunk Blokes came along to our stand, played a game of Vote ME! with us and recorded it. You can hear it on their podcast here at approx 40 minutes in (note, some of the language is a little fruity in places, it was in the afternoon, and they had imbibed a tipple or three).
We also had a chat with Rob from @JTRpodcast whilst we were at AireCon in March. He recorded a bit about Vote ME! which you can see below.
There will be five Kickstarter Exclusive Vote ME! dice produced, one for each Party, using the Party's colour and 6 being replaced with the appropriate Party icon.
In order to show our appreciation, all backers at Supporter level and higher will receive a Kickstarter Exclusive Vote ME! dice of their choice. If you can't make up your mind which one you would like, there is an add-on where you can have ALL the dice.
We will also be at UK Games Expo 2018 on the 1st-3rd June 2018, at the NEC. Any backer that collects their pledge from us over the Expo weekend will also receive a Redwell games 2018 promotional dice.
Goal 1 - £1,200 Win a copy - first name is drawn from the pool.
What does this mean? At the end of the campaign, we will compile a pool of names from the list of people who like the Redwell Games Facebook page and also those who share or retweet any Redwell Games posts about this Kickstarter campaign. It is therefore possible that names can be duplicated in this pool. A number of names will be drawn from this pool based on how many "win a copy" stretch goals are reached. These people will be contacted, and they can choose to either win a copy of the game, or the game mat and we will send their prize to them free of charge.
Goal 2 - £2,500 Win a copy - a second name is drawn from the pool.
Goal 3 - £4,000 Win a copy - a third name is drawn from the pool
How do you get an add on? When the pledge manager gets sent out, select the appropriate add-ons that you would like. If you pledge sufficient funds during the campaign, these will pay for the add-ons. If you didn't submit a sufficient amount during the campaign, you will be able to top up your pledge in order to afford and add-on.
£5 - All the dice
For any pledges that get a Kickstarter exclusive Party dice, this will add four more onto your pledge, so that you can have the full set. AND the Redwell Games 2018 promotional dice!
£18 - Another copy of the game
Add an extra copy of the game onto your pledge, because you love the game so much, or for as a gift for someone, or just because you wanted to.
£16 - Vote ME! game mat
A snazzy 14" x 24" game mat (mousemat material) for you to use in your games of Vote ME!

Risks and challenges
As mentioned above, the game designs have gone to the printers, with an expected delivery in May. We are using reputable and experienced printers, and due to finding another source of funding there is no concern about the game being printed, unless some major act of nature occurs.
The game mats are being produced by a local Sheffield company, and whilst their turn around should also be quick enough to have these ready by UK Games Expo 2018 as well.
However, acts of nature and other unforeseen circumstances can still occur to cause delays, but we will maintain regular updates to our backers so that they are kept fully appraised of expected timescales.
Delivery costs - re-iterating here. I do not know the final weight of the game, and so once I have heard from the printers I will be able to get proper estimates. Therefore, delivery costs will be added on after the campaign has ended.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
