The air was still and dry, she could feel it pulling the sweat from her brow. She stood in the street facing down the Cowboy, his eyes fixed upon her. She focused on him. "5 inches down from his throat" she thought, "that's the sweet spot". He hurled yet another insult at her. Some foul word to distract her.
He went for his guns.
She drew too.....
About The Game
Six-Gun Showdown : Single Shot is a quick two player card and dice game of wild west duels. "Single shot" is our fully playable early promo version, an "amuse bouche", of the final game.
It consists of 16 cards and a dice, is fully compatible with the final game (due to be launched later this year) and it's two unique sets of character cards are not found in the final game - therefore no duplicates if you like this and want to back the final game.
If you feel an irresistible urge to read the the rules, they can be found here.
This is a simple Kickstarter campaign, with very narrow margins and so not much extra that can be added. However, there is room to improve the visual appeal of the dice.
Once we hit £800, we will upgrade from a printed design to a lasered design on the dice.
This is a small, unboxed game (this is how we are able to keep it cheap), with two copies weighing under 100g. We should be able to send out 1 Bullet and 2 Bullet pledges in envelopes (rather than parcels) as standard delivery and so keep postage as low as possible.
The custom game mat is too big and heavy (it's made out of mouse mat material) and so will have to go as a boxed parcel. We will therefore use recorded delivery for the Full Clip pledges.
Free collection at AireCon: If you are going to AireCon (in Harrogate, UK) on 9th or 10th March, you can pick your order from the Redwell Games stand and not have to pay postage. To do this, select Antarctica as your delivery option.
We always love to hear from people. Obviously you can contact us through Kickstarter, but if you want to e-mail us, our address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Note: Music on how to play video can be found here and is on a creative commons 4.0 licence
Risks and challenges
The risks for this project are minimal, because we are getting everything manufactured in the UK, and most of it local to Redwell Games - i.e. sourced within Sheffield. We have run a successful Kickstarter project in the past and fulfilled everyone's order, so we do have experience in processing orders and delivery.
All designs are complete, so print and play will get sent to people once payment has been sorted and questionnaire filled in.
Cards - we are getting the Sheffield based company who have generated all ourprototypes to date (three so far) to make these, so a super reliable source.
Game mats - these will be made by Patriot Games, also based in Sheffield. They have made several different mats for me in the past, so again another super reliable source.
Dice - these will be printed by a UK firm (not based in Sheffield though). We have used them to generate the Vote ME! kickstarter exclusive dice, the Redwell Games promotional dice, and the prototype dice for Six Gun Showdown. Again, a source we know we can rely upon.
All of these companies have generated items for us in the past with a 2-3 week turn around, so I would anticipate early March for dispatch will be achievable.
The biggest risk - postage. Unfortunately, things do get lost in the post. I could charge for recorded delivery for the one bullet and two bullet pledges, but that would increase the postage charge for such a small item (under 100g!) to being much higher that the item itself and we don't think that's right.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
