The Key Art of Dreamfall Chapters
This update was promised for June 24th; however, the key art was scheduled for June 25th. We apologise for the confusion.
Key art is the art of marketing campaigns and digital storefronts, including posters, banners, websites, wallpapers and trailers.
Ever since the Kickstarter last February, the key art we’ve used for Dreamfall Chapters has been early pre-production and work-in-progress art. Now that we’re getting closer to release, it’s time to replace the preproduction art with the final key art.
Over the past few months, our graphic designer Christoffer Grav has been busy creating a brand new look.
Here are the results. We hope you like it.
We're going with a more illustrated (and graphic novel) look for the key art, rather than the high-resolution 3D renders we've used previously. We feel this is more in line with the style and mood of our universe, and it's something that will also be reflected in parts of the game.
Banners will feature both of our main protagonists, Zoë Castillo and Kian Alvane. These characters share equal billing in the game, and we want to profile both as much as possible.
Pay close attention to the background elements: nothing has been left to chance, and nothing is without meaning.
The box art will of course also use variations of the key art. The examples below are still work in progress, and the various boxed editions will use slightly different art.
We will update our websites and social media channels today and tomorrow with the new key art. By Friday, the new profile should be in place everywhere.
A lot of you are probably going to ask for wallpapers and higher quality versions of this art: it's coming! Most of these images will be available as wallpapers — in all shapes and sizes — for backers of certain tiers.
We will back this coming Friday with another update. Until then,
May the Balance be with you!
