Update #18: Steam Greenlight, TLJ add-on, T-shirts!

We're on Steam Greenlight!

As of today, Dreamfall Chapters is a Steam Greenlight project, which means that you can vote to get our game on Steam!

There are tons of advantages to being on Steam, not the least of which is providing you guys with more options for your digital downloads.

So please visit our Steam Greenlight page today (or, y'know, tomorrow) and vote YES on Proposition-- no, wait, vote YES on getting Dreamfall Chapters on Steam! Thank you!

The Longest Journey digital add-on!

We're very, very excited to announce a new and much-requested digital add-on: The Longest Journey!

Starting today, you can add a digital copy of the original The Longest Journey to your existing pledge for $10.

To add the game to your pledge, visit the project page and click Manage Your Pledge. Enter a new amount in the pledge amount box. Note that you are not adding to your existing pledge; the amount you enter will be the total amount collected if the project is successfully funded.

At the end of the Kickstarter campaign, you will receive a survey where you can explain how you want your add-on money distributed. At that time, you can specify that your $10 will go towards a digital copy of The Longest Journey.

You will receive your digital download key soon after the Kickstarter concludes. Please note that The Longest Journey is Windows PC only.

Finally, we haz

T-shirts!

We are working on various t-shirt designs, and we'll have something ready soon. As part of that process, we're giving YOU guys a chance to vote for one of the following designs:

We will make a t-shirt featuring either Apples & Penguins, The Loremaster or Storytime, and feature this as a reward add-on. But which one will it be? Well, that's up to you! Add your vote in the comments section below, and on Friday (noon CET) we will tally up your votes and select ONE of these t-shirts for a physical add-on.

(And yes, we will make a version with a dark background as well.)

And in other news...

There are some big updates heading your way later this week. Friday will bring a brand new video and much more information about a mysterious stretch goal. We have desktop backgrounds in the works, badges and banners, and a new non-playable character reveal.

And next week? It's our last week, and we're working on making it a GREAT week. We'll finally reveal the second playable character, we'll have more gameplay footage, and we're going to talk about a cool feature or two.

Thanks for pledging and thanks for checking in! It's been a fantastic Kickstarter so far, and we're far, far from done, so please stick around!

Onwards & upwards!

The Loremaster would be nice, though I'd prefer an April Ryan T-Shirt if it were available ^^

    2. MusicSweetly on March 2, 2013

@Ra88 Ahahah, I would totally wear a shirt that said "Shift Happens" :)

      Loremaster for me :)

Storytime. I love Crow, but loremaster isn't a very t-shirty design (not placed in the center of the shirt like that). 'Apples and Penguins' is, but doesn't promote the game at all. Wait, can I vote for "Apples and Penguins" with the penguin replaced with Crow?

I think for me it would have to be Storytime. :)

      Apple's and penguins for me!

    10. Martin Barbov on March 1, 2013

The Loremaster, but you need better artists, not any picture works well as a t-shirt design.

I agree that the Cyberbard's T-shirt with the balance symbol would be classier than these three. Sorry guys ;-)

      Apples and Penguins.

.. Please not Loremaster. If it has to be Loremaster, at least change it up so that anybody would know that's THE Crow, and not just a crow. It doesn't scream "The Longest Journey" to anybody who sees it.

      @Onur
See http://www.gog.com/forum/the_longest_journey_dreamfall for details about the GOG version - some do have problems (Nvidia drivers being one cause) but there seem to be workarounds for many.

I think TLJ add-on is a very good idea to increase pledges, I was considering to buy it from GOG anyway :-). Does this version works fine in Win7 ?

      The Loremaster for me.

@Kimberly K: "...Dreamfall is not available for the Mac on Steam.."
From what I can tell, Dreamfall wasn't released for the Mac at all. Any digital download that RTG choose to offer is going to be the same as what is available from other suppliers (even if they had the rights, they wouldn't have the time to port Dreamfall to other platforms) so, short of Boot Camp/Parallels, theirs won't run on a Mac either. Sorry.

A clear preference for the Loremaster T Shirt

Actually I am a digital collector as well, that is why I am not afraid to have all three TLJs in digital :)
I try to explain, that the suggestion hasn't mentioned GOG or Amazon - the suggestion was and is to add Dreamfall as add-on as well as TLJ is add-oned now.
I see I am not the only one to struggle for it

@Сергей Мазаев: "limited edition boxes are not available in our country..."
Which is why I suggested Amazon Marketplace, where the (third party) vendors can choose who they ship to. Shipping to Russia is going to cost more, yes, but for collectors that matters less than getting something rare (and collectors, by definition, have little interest in digital versions with unlimited availability).
As for not wanting to sign up for a GOG account - your choice. They're a helluva lot better than Steam though, where your entire games collection can be wiped in an instant by Value (see http://consumerist.com/2011/03/valve-disables-steam-account-wont-explain-why.html for one example, tens of thousands of others can be found online) and you don't have to run any client software (there is an optional downloader, but no-one has to use it). And they don't discriminate by region either - one price, wherever you live.

I had mentioned a Dreamfall digital download addition because I only have Mac computers and Dreamfall is not available for the Mac on Steam......to my understanding........thought it would be cool to have this added while they were talking about adding TLJ. I would be willing to pay extra if it could be done.

Loremaster in light or medium grey would look nice. Vote is for Loremaster!

    38. Shaun Wightman on February 28, 2013

I would also like to suggest the Balance logo design. Keep these shirts classy!

    39. Mikejames on February 28, 2013

I second the notion of liking some of Cyberbard's shirt designs with the Balance symbol and Chapters' logo.

Of those three above designs? I'd probably go with The Loremaster.

    40. Сергей Мазаев on February 28, 2013

      AstralWanderer
You forget the only one thing - limited edition boxes are not available in our country, and shipping costs a lot. More over, limited editions of EU and US games cost much for us.
it is useless talking about GOG, taking into consideration, that original TLJ IS ADDED FOR 10$ here - so, the suggestion is to make DREAMFALL AVAILABLE FOR ANTOHER 10$, not talking about GOG. You see? I guess, it is no more difficult for RTG, than adding TLJ for 10 bucks,
I do not want any GOG :) I hope even Chapters I'll get through Steam, and TLJ as well (8ucking up the regional limitations of it).

      Vote for The Loremaster! :D
