@Bobby Allen: 1a, 1b and 1c are just the names of the files and has nothing to do with chapters or books. The current version should contain both books.
just linked my humble bundle account to my steam account, looking for book 2 now. Still no book 2 :( What am I missing? I am sure it is a simple step, click A ,etc...
extracting the zip only shows chapters 1a/b/c :(
NOTE: Their is an updated version, installing it now. Is that update book 2?
I just checked humble bundle and no new keys. My views of steam have changed since this project ended. Is there a way to convert the humblebundle key to a steam key so I can start book 2?
Thanks got my key!
Thanks for the update
So excited about the game after playing Rebels, congratulations! :) And so sad because of the upcoming months of waiting... Could you reveal the title of Book Three, please? To ease our pain a little bit? ;) And really hoping for the new version of the main, title drawing (don't know how to call it: the one with Kian on the left side and Zoe on the right one). My computer wants its wallpaper to be updated! :)
Just finished Book 2 and already hooked!!! Great work you guys :-)
Don't think I can even express my feelings when encountering the characters from the past such as Abnaxus and Banda or seeing the infamous 'rubber ducky' as well as being in Enclave (which I loved so much in TLJ) and seeing the paintings of TLJ world... so much worth exploring and spending the time looking for more references...
Also, I cannot stop thinking about the story and how is it going to evolve... very exciting stuff :-)
Most of the choices I have made were done by the majority of the players. However, once I complete the full game I am going to play again and be a proper badass this time to see what'll happen... Can't wait!!!
@AstralWanderer: Sales don't work like that. We partake in Steam and GOG sales that are driven by their marketing and sales departments. By doing that, we get increased attention and vastly increased sales -- that's simply how Steam (and GOG) work, and how most games are sold these days.
Since TLJ and Dreamfall are properties of Funcom, we are unable to make bundles containing all three games. This is not something they've expressed any interest in doing, which is fair.
@Chris Brainard: go to the following thread in the forum:
The first few things mentioned there is how to get access to your key. It shouldn't be too complicated. If you still have trouble figuring out what to do feel free to ask around at the forum, everybody there is very friendly and helpful!
I never got a key and that page didn't help me get a key.
Well, I can tell you that The first book I played for around 6 hours the first time. This including looking at everything I could find and exhausting dialogue from various NPCs. After this, though, I started messing around with different paths/choices and after doing that with book 2 as well I've raked up a whopping 27 hours on steam already. I don't think you guys can fully appreciate how excited I am that this saga is finally continued. again. You are the best, RTG.
@RTG: "...Sales make a big difference for us, and are one of the key drivers in getting new players into the game."
But at the cost of full-price sales after full release - both from those who purchased during the sale and anyone afterwards since you've effectively said "Don't buy now, it'll be a lot cheaper soon."
And if new players are the intended target, why no linkup with the previous games TLJ and Dreamfall? At the very least it would make sense to co-ordinate a sale with FunCom - or better yet offer a TLJ/Dreamfall/Chapters bundle for those new to April's/Zoe's stories.
If you want to encourage (more) early buyers to fund development, then consider a long-term sliding discount which drops as each book is released (e.g. 15% off until book 3 is released, then 10% until book 4, then 5% till book 5). That provides an incentive to buy early, without risking upset to those who paid full price (or significantly more during the KS).
@AstralWanderer: The game is obviously released, and has been since October! :) Sales make a big difference for us, and are one of the key drivers in getting new players into the game. We try to space them out and to not sell the game too cheaply, but it's definitely a good way to generate a lot more sales, which enables us to put more money into the production of new episodes.
@RTG: "In terms of timelines, Book Three won't take as long as Book Two..."
A pity - I wouldn't consider book 2 as "epic" but it was a sizable chunk (though I'd also agree with Empirimancer about a portion of that time being spent wandering aimlessly looking for an item or event). As a matter of interest, how much time is spent on planning and implementing quests compared to creating the models and environments? I'm guessing the modeling takes the lion's share of the work.
"...the game is currently 30% off on Steam!"
Yer-what? Not even released and discounted? Please RTG, have a read of http://jeff-vogel.blogspot.com/2014/12/how-youre-going-to-price-your-computer.html
I just played parts 1 and 2 back to back and the experience really was amazing! You do a great job calling out choices and consequences, in both large and small ways. My husband and I keep getting nervous about things like trying not to get lovable side characters killed, without knowing in advance if it's a possibility. I mean to say, I care about my impact on the in-game world, not about gaming the system, and that's a pretty big success!
I'm having tons of fun theory-crafting about what the nature of the world means, and what's coming next.
Keep at it! And keep sane! You guys deserve a few long weekends.
I'm pretty impressed at what such a small team has accomplished in this amount of time.
Loving what I'm seeing/hearing, but I'm resisting playing until it's complete (I do the same with Telltale's episodic stuff), but I'm second-guessing myself - is it three Books or five?
It took around 8 hours for me to complete Book 2 and it was OMG! amazing. I am a very big fan of the series since the first TLJ game, so thank you for Chapters. I am so happy that you are making this.
Typos in my previous comment: I liked Book 2 but the play time is misleading. I spent most of my time trying to get to a destination in both cities.

@Marcin Baran: Thank you! :D
@Cory: When there is an update on the PS4 version, we will definitely inform everyone! For the time being, we're converting Dreamfall Chapters to Unity 5. After that's complete, we will be able to make more progress on the PS4 version. Hopefully it won't be too long!
The only surprise I want in April... is her still being alive. ;_;
Thanks for the update:) The Book 2 was great and it really did take around 6-7 hours. I'm really looking forward here to continue the story. Keep up the great work!!!
Any update on the PS4 version?
