Will the $75 tier get the game early? And how?
it's good to have a release date finally :) looking forward to Book Two!
"...the massive scope of the second episode — up to 50% bigger than Book One..."
Good news - I thought book one was a promising introduction, but would definitely want to see more content in the remaining four epsiodes, even if it means a longer wait (which seems a drop in the ocean compared to the time since Dreamfall's release).
@VkBest Five books; see the last couple of paragraphs.
How many books will have this game?
Oh, I have absolutely no problem with this delay. I've come across a bit of a stump playing Book One and I even haven't had the time to search for clues on how to solve this. So, you just take all the time you need and chances are I won't even have finished Book One by the time Book Two is out so all's good. :)

@Omar Lima: The ebooks have unfortunately been rather delayed, for various reasons. We are working to have those out as soon as possible!
@Kiri Callaghan: did you miss (or forgot) about The Longest Journey Home?
It was the focus of Kickstarter update #20 (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/redthread/dreamfall-chapters-the-longest-journey/posts/417562 ) and more details about it were mentioned in a gamespot article: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/taking-the-longest-journey-home/1100-6404653/ (the link to that same article from the update is broken). We may have "failed" to hit that stretch goal, but my understanding is that the possibility of it still being made at some point in the future is high.
@Maxime Girard: pneumonia is awful, I hope you get better soon.
Wonderful news. Thanks for taking the extra time to make launch as smooth as possible. Exciting to see you're in full production swing now, with the story well underway, a second episode successfully hooked up to the first and the foundation laid for the rest to be delivered (all going well) by the end of the year.
A nice bit of news while I fight pneumonia. :)
What about the ebooks? I've been waiting to read it before I play this game. I thought the ebooks would be done before Book One.
Interesting wording there. Concluding Zoe's story... Does that mean our tale as a whole still has much more to go?
awesome, can't wait!
@Tech: Without a hitch? Unlikely! But we'll keep the hitches to a minimum ;)
@Panos: It's coming, but we're delayed with the PS4 for reasons out of our control. It'll happen when it happens, hopefully by Book Three!
this is great news! Though I'd love to know when the PS4 version is likely to come out, for some reason chapter one hates my laptop and runs pretty poorly on it.
It is almost always better to delay something as long as it doesn't got into a recursive loop. :)
Thanks for the update. I hope the Book 2 Launch goes off without a hitch come March :D.
@Caroline White: The whole team took a well-deserved Christmas holiday, and they'll be able to rest a bit during Easter, so everyone's ready to crunch right now :)
@Rivercliff: There was no intermediary update to deliver. Up until last Friday, we were aiming for next week, but reviewing the game over the weekend and the last couple of days, we realised we'd be better off delaying in order to fix bugs and do some last-minute polish.
Y'all are the best :) Smarter to delay a few weeks and release something that will significantly reduce the whining on forums upon release, heh. Good luck on the testing, I can't wait to see where this journey takes us! I'll have to replay the first chapter soon...
Would have appreciated at least one intermediate update on the delay, but glad you're not willing to compromise quality for speed. And the 3 week lead time is nice. It will allow for a leisurely replay of Book One.
I'm fine with this! I remember thinking my comp couldn't run Dreamfall Chapters when it first came out, but that was fixed by the patch.
So I'm fine waiting a few weeks to make sure all the kinks are ironed out.
I'm excited to play more, though!
Can't wait!!!! I think you guys are doing the right thing, testing everything as much you can. Taking your time and some well deserved breaks is really important in any project. :) Thank you for the update.
Ninjas, ninjas everywhere!
@Christine: well, given Kian's surname (Alvane) and the "connection" that name has with April, I would easily bet that he has a significant role to play in The Longest Journey Home, that will conclude both his story as well as April's of course.
Cool. Keep up the good work, and take some breaks from time to time. We don't want you pushing yourself too hard, although that seems easy to fall into in game production.
While the wait between episodes is longer than I would have liked, taking time to properly test the next instalment is definitely a good decision.
@Barrie Follow the Red Thread Games instructions, but this might also help to get the Steam key: https://www.humblebundle.com/resender
(use the email address you use here)
EDIT: ... *higher* tier ... not *heir*, autocorrect! ;-)
@Barrie Cotton, no physical rewards (except the T-shirt, if you had that ordered) are sent yet and you shouldn't expect them before 2016. (I'm just a backer at a heir tier than you, btw). As for the DIGITAL REWARDS, I'll repost my own words from another post here:
@People without game keys: there have been multiple Kickstarter updates since Book 1 has been released in October that clearly point you to where your game keys -and other digital rewards- are to be found but no "here is your key" e-mail was sent to anyone.
Short story: your game key is "waiting" for you at your Humble store account - even if you don't have one yet! (one is created for you automatically)
Long story: READ THIS thread in the forum:
The first few things mentioned there is how to get access to your key. It shouldn't be too complicated. If you still have trouble figuring out what to do feel free to ask around at the forum, everybody there is very friendly and helpful!
Any updates about the PS4-Releasedate?
@Barrie Cotton: We have sent out a number of updates to all backers (starting in October last year) about how to redeem your game key(s) and other rewards. If you haven't received these emails, please check your spam filters and make sure your Kickstarter and BackerKit emails are correct.
Here's a link to the FAQ explaining how to redeem your rewards:
Yay! Thank you guys for your hard work! First chapter was really entertaining! Looking forward to it!
That's cool, ready when it's ready, and under 3 weeks isn't so far away. Less bugs is always good
Im a $250 drramers edition backer. I have received nothing to date. Can you write to me at my personal email address and explain what i should have had by now, hiw i access it, and ehat physical signed goods i will receive and approx when.
Feeling pretty ripped off.
Well I would have had the correct date for release. But March is a good month. Looking forward to it. I do find it strange RTG mentioned the conclusion of Zoe's story only. So does that mean Kian's will continue after DFC?
Still a long wait, but I rather play a polished version immediately than an unpolished one. I hope the generic usb controllers are finally supported. Had to play the first chapter with mouse+keyboard.
This is great news - I can't wait :D
