An important update on launch!
Hi all,
Unfortunately, due to some last-minute snags, we will NOT be releasing at 1800 CEST today. There are some critical bugs in the latest version (one of which is also in yesterday's early access version) that affect, amongst other things, character voices and save-games.
We definitely do not want to release a potentially broken version to everyone on Steam, GOG and the Humble Store, and so we're working hard to fix these bugs before publishing the game.
Here's what can happen with our current, broken version:
- After loading an auto-save, you get stuck. This can be fixed by reloading the save-game, but that's not a great user experience, obviously.
- After switching the subtitles on or off, you lose the character voices. The voices come back again after a while, but this can ruin the experience of playing the game.
- Mac version crashes on load. This is a new bug, and shouldn't be too hard to fix, but it's obviously quite critical!
There are a couple of smaller bugs in addition to this, but those are the major ones. We're working on fixing them right now, and we don't think it's going to take too long, but we do have to run through the game multiple times on multiple computers before we can publish again.

RTG Why not send out a mail or something to your backers explaining how to get the darn key? Not everyone likes to play detective you know. I still haven't gotten the key. Don't have more time today either for registering at different sites, waiting for email and what have you. Sorry for this rant, but doesn't see why it have to be so difficult.

@AMG: Just to clarify; you did not get to the "create user" stage? If you managed to put in a username, you could maybe post that here, and we could check the Admin-board thingie to see if you somehow have been caught there. If you never got to visit at all, it's a bit more difficult.

@Penny: I'm not quite sure what you mean? If you want to know how you'll get the final version, Steam should update it automatically once RTG release it.

The only thing I can think about is if your IP address has been banned from the IP.board forum software (it sends different ban stuff over the entire software). If you're "clean", then that's really strange.
I'm not sure how to deal with it either, as Erika. I would suggest you trying to send RTG a mail on support@redthreadgames.com, and maybe tell them your IP address.
I seem to think one other user has had problems with being "banned" from the forums, but that was because their IP provider had some IP's being used for spam (or something like that, I don't know much about computers really, sorry...)

Hi AMG - I'm a moderator on the RTG forums. I'm not quite sure why you're having this issue with the forums. Are you going to redthreadgames.com/forum ? Do you have any sort of possible blocking software in place that might be causing an issue?
I'll do what I can to get this sorted. If we can't figure it out, then maybe contact RTG's support and they may be able to look into it.

Already beat the game yesterday (early access), it was amazing and went smooth. I guess I was lucky enough not to experience any of those bugs xD No spoilers or anything, but great game and Id recommend it to everyone!

Guys... if you are still frantically fixing Bugs, you're probably not ready to release. I love that you're trying to make the date, but it's more important that you resolve all your P0/P1 Bugs, run your tests, do aggressive play throughs, fix more bugs, repeat. i.e. get it right. :)
I'd rather have it next week, than deal with Bugs. Just my $0.02. Appreciate all the hard work and looking forward to it whenever it's truly ready.

I also never received anything. I learned today by following the link in this Kickstarter update how to get my key. Never heard of that before. So good thing I checked it out.
I also tried to register on the redthread forums (because the badge key and the game key were together on humble, I thought I do that as well then), but it only says

You will need to get your steam key through Humble Bundle. You should already have an account created there as it is. For me, my steam account is already linked with humble bundle so it just automatically redeemed the key to my steam account, but if yours is not linked, it'll just give you the key itself.

I just don't know whether we get them or not. I'd really like to get one, but if I only get a DRM-free Humble download that would also be okay. I'm sure once they are done with the game (and maybe a little sleep) they'll let us know.

For those of you who don't have their humblebundle keys yet - go to https://www.humblebundle.com/resender and enter your backer e-mail. you should receive an e-mail with the redeem link. Had the same issue with some other backed games!
