Where We Come From
Hey backers. My name is Ben. I've been a runner my whole life. Whether it was training for the soccer season as a teen or preparing for obstacle course races like Spartan or BattleFrog, I have learned to love the runner's high.
Finding the right gear is essential to success in any endeavor. As I searched for the right way to carry my stuff around while running, I grew tired of paying through the nose for name brand gear that didn't get the job done. I had to carry my phone in my hand and tie my house key onto the draw-string of my shorts. Every pair of shorts had a key pocket in the waistline... right on my hip flexor. That's not comfortable.
And, with a full-time job and a family the only time I could squeeze in a run was before the kids woke up or after they went to bed. Running in the dark meant I needed to pick up a reflective vest for safety. I had to find a better way.
So, with the help of an amazing design crew, I built the Bryce Running Shirt (named after Bryce Canyon National Park). The fitted pocket on the arm holds your phone securely as you move. A small button-hole in the phone pocket allows your headphone jack to pass between the pocket and the interior of the shirt. Keys, headphones, energy gels and other small items fit in the second pocket on the opposite arm.
We placed reflective material strategically around the shirt to increase visibility when running in the dark, rain or snow. Simple, secure, practical.
But we need your help
We have the prototype and a few samples ready to go. Now it's time to move into production. An incredible production house in Utah is all set to manufacture this line. We just need the money to get started.
Our goal of $3,000 is a bare minimum goal. We need that much to get production started. But, that will only get us men's and women's shirts in small, medium, large, XL in a couple colors. If we can reach our first stretch goal of $10,000, we will add another color to the line. Each additional $5,000 raised will add another color to the line.
As we reach our stretch goals, we will also use a portion of the extra funds to market the Bryce Shirt line in other ways (think sponsoring local races or paid advertisements on podcasts). None of the funds raised here will go to paying a salary to me or any of my design team.
What's in it for you?
Let's break it down. Take a look around a local running store or the internet. A high quality athletic shirt made out of premium technical fabric like the kind we use can easily run $40-60. Then add in an armband style phone carrier for another $20-30. Plus reflective gear for another $15. Wow!
We put that all together, in a single comfortable, simple item. Instead of running you upwards of $100, the Bryce Running Shirt retails for $39. Our supporters... that's you... will get an even better deal. You will also get your new shirt before they are available anywhere else.
Not able to help us financially?
There is plenty more you can do to help. Right now the only way people can hear about us is through Kickstarter and word of mouth. Tell your friends, tell your coworkers, tell everyone. Share on social media.
Thanks for all your help and good wishes. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to reach out.
Red Rock Running
Risks and challenges
I'm really excited to bring my dream to the world, but I'm just one person. I have great support from my friends and family. I've teamed up with wonderful industry experts to help me with the design and manufacturing. But, even with all their incredible help, the day-to-day running of the business all falls on me. I'm happy to do it, if it means seeing Red Rock Running grow and serve the running community. If you are willing to support me, I am willing to put in the long hours and hard work to get the job done.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
