Cases, cases, cases, packing material and swag

VHS cases have arrived.  Lots of vhs cases.  Got a small set of the Dungeon Decor cards printed up before ordering all of them in bulk.  Got rubber bands to sort the different sets of tiles.  Excitement is growing.  I misspoke in my previous update about the turn around on the full order of tiles.  They should be arriving before the 15th of this month.  Spoke to the printer yesterday and he said they are ahead of schedule so I may get them sooner.  I will notify everyone with an update and pics as soon as they arrive.  I also received some sample clamshells that I may consider for possible future retail packaging.

I think the fun part will be the pictures of all the boxes of tiles sitting at his place to be sorted & packed. You know, with the mass shot of boxes right behind the slightly out of focus bottle of whiskey and 6-pack on the table in front.

Who knew there were even that many VHS cases left in the world.

Heh, the rubber bands make it easier for Kevin to get them sorted and out the door, I"m all for it. If nothing else, I can open them all up, take them off and go ahead and build a couple of "double barrel" rubber band guns for my son and myself to play with...although airsoft if fairly fun for that kind of stuff too...

I used to hold all my old card decks together with rubber bands. Quite the shock to open up an old box and find the cards intermingled everywhere, many with rubber band residue all over them. Nowadays I use little baggies for cards. Works MUCH better! Although I suppose even baggies can deteriorate over time?

One of the ways around the rubber band marking things problem is to first wrap a piece of paper around whatever you are going to put the rubber band on. The paper will provide a buffer between the rubber band and what it is holding together. It may not help with the rubber band decaying and sticking to and marking other things next to it in the box, though. I found this stuff out the hard way. :( Some of my game boxes are permanently and badly marked with rubber band residue. The really old rubber bands never did this.

Work great as improvised clamps when building miniature stuff though...

Rubber bands decay, disintegrate, and eat into whatever they are touching. They don't make them like they used to. :(

      Dear Kevin:
Neighbor, I get the feeling you are going to get very sick of looking at blue tiles and white VHS cases before the end of the month....

      Looks good though.

If any of those cases have my old Marx Brothers movies in 'em, can I have them back?

Seriously cool about things being ahead of schedule. I'm very much looking forward to getting these.
