32 page full colour comic book, litho printed with a gloss laminate cover (you know - to keep it all nice).

Those who hold the power, control the world. In the near future, the world’s military has been replaced by advanced drones set to minimise the casualties of constant war between nations. The Dominion created the all-powerful Arkurus drive, capable of controlling and coordinating such a worldwide force and stored it in a top security secret facility. Using a highly skilled operative ‘Stick’ the international terrorist, known as ‘The Gentleman’ secured the device and now holds the cards in a game for power. His goal? To sell the dominions military forces to the highest bidder.

Unable to retaliate and having exhausted all options the council elect to hire an infamous band of Mercenaries who specialise in the impossible. Led by the calculating and reckless Captain the team embark on a mission to restore the balance of world military power. However, there is more to the mission than meets the eyes as for some this is a means of vindication and retribution.

Join the team as they face their most gruelling mission to date where they face, everything the Gentleman has to throw at them. Issue 3 brings us the final instalment of this first arc.

Chris Imber
Chris Imber is the creator of Operation: Boom. He co-writes and co-illustrates the series. His work includes tour posters and album art for bands such as Finch as well as work in the Udon Entertainment/ Capcom Tribute to Fighting Games. It was this love of fighting games and larger than life characters that first gave him the idea to create Operation Boom. The nostalgia for 90’s based video games was a big influence as well as anime shows such as ‘The Guyver’ and a host of American superhero comics. Looking to creators such as Bachalo, Ramos, Madureira, Bengus and Lee, he worked tirelessly to hone his comic art skills, eventually working as lead artist on Reckless Hero’s initial ‘Last Sheriff’ series. He has produced several pieces for the UK indie comic scene and enjoys developing his skills to hopefully ‘Level up’.

Chris Jenkins
Chris is the co-writer and colourist of Operation: Boom. He got seriously into comics coming out of university and began to create comic art with Chris Imber soon afterwards, first working on band album covers, before moving onto t-shirts then taking the first steps into writing and colouring comics.
Chris cut his teeth on Reckless Hero's debut hit 'The Last Sheriff' and his work can now be found on a number of indie titles. You can find more of Chris's work on Twitter @TheMightyBurbs or Instagram @TheMightyBurbs

Brian Vander
Brian is a freelance artist out of Chicago. Operation: Boom #2 was his first published comic work and he takes he art to a whole new level in issue 3. We've been delighted to have Brian onboard for this issue and you can follow this exciting new artist on social media on Twitter @vander11chi and on Instagram @Brianvander

Special guest artist print by Jeffrey 'Chamba' Cruz

“This first issue is an absolute blast to read right from the get go. I loved every insane and deranged set action piece, with their completely unhinged angles and super colourful acrobatics. Chris Imber, the artist and writer, is absolutely on top of his game and can be put up against the best in the biz in this sort of arena. The colours are bright and vibrant and are used to great effect in the vibrant action sequences (of which there are a lot!)” Downthetubes

Risks and challenges
The risks for the project are minimal. The comic is all completed, ready to go to the printers if we make our goal. This will be the 7th comic that we have published so we have lots of experience of developing the content, printing and getting it out to customers. The biggest risks will be in any delay from the printers of either the comic or t-shirts but we have factored in some contingency time into our plans.
