2,566 backers pledged $140,201 to help bring this project to life.

The final stretch

Every step of this project has surprised us. First we reached our initial target in less than two days. Then we hit $75,000, and upgraded everybody's rewards. Then it wasn't long before we passed $100,000. The response from everyone out there has just been beyond anything we could have imagined.

Now there are just a few days left, and we need your help to see how far we can take this before time runs out.

As we say in the video, if you're not a backer, we'd love it if you considered pledging. If you are a backer, then thank you so much. And we really appreciate every tweet, every Facebook posting and every email you send on our behalf: every dollar helps make this project better for you.

We're closing in on the first stories, and we'll let you know about them as soon as we can. In the meantime, keep spreading the word.

Not just exciting for your project, but for the idea of excellent, inexpensive web-based writing in general. This is what frontiersmen called trailblazing. Excited to be a contributor.

John B -- details to come asap. Once we've wrapped up the Kickstarter we'll be in touch with more on the collaborative commissioning. But if you take a look at the All Our Ideas website (http://www.allourideas.org/) you'll be able to get a rough idea of how it will work.

      Fantastic.

Seriously, I'm more than ecstatic to be on this journey with you folks.

Change making isn't easy, but seeking truth feels damn good my friends. Good luck!

Any more details available on the proposed group editing/topic discussion capability?
