Boston FIG & Press Roundup
For our first public update we figured it would be a good idea to do a roundup of the attention we've receive in various outlets. We'd like to start by thanking the Boston Festival of Indie Games for interviewing us as the first BostonFiGCast. The festival will take place in Boston in September and showcase tons of indie games from digital to board games to live action role playing games. Many of my friends and Boston colleagues are involved as volunteers and planners. My brother Michael put together an awesome Boston Plays Indies musical event. Check out the latest BFIG Newsletter and watch the interview where we discuss our company and Codename Cygnus:
We're surprised and excited by the blogs and publications that have announced our game and its Kickstarter campaign: Kotaku, Polygon, Edge Online, Gamezebo, godisageek, Fast Company Labs, and BigSushi.fm. (The last one is a podcast where I talk extensively about Codename Cygnus, the design concepts, and how we intend it to work narratively.) You can find updated news links on our website, where you can also join our mailing list for future updates: www.codenamecygnus.com
Private Backer Updates
We've spent some time thinking about the difference between offering public vs. private updates. On the one hand we want everyone to see more of what we're doing in order to make this game something worth supporting. On the other hand, we also want to provide backers with the immediate reward of knowing a little more and hearing news first before we post publicly. We're figuring out a more specific plan of action for this, but no matter what you can expect that more updates are on the way.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has shared the Kickstarter or supported us so far! We're at 50% funded with about 2/3 of the time remaining. Please keep spreading the word.
