The Letterpress Workshop
Thirty-eight trusting backers have decided to pay double to have their copy of ARC 16 posted to them accompanied by a limited edition letterpress print made to commemorate this magazine's passing.
We must wait until the campaign is successful before we edition the print. The art of setting type in letterpress is one of patience, concentration and sheer dedication. So we can not show you the work; we can, however, promise it will be worth the wait. A typographic tale of a body buried, reburied and buried again, that of legendary typographer, John Baskerville.
The print will be made by Arc 16's designers Matthew and Pedro with the assistance of long-time letterpress technician and workshop tutor at the Royal College, Ian Gabb. His studio is a place of mystery and colour and Xinru Long from the Arc team was allowed to make a photographic tour of the facilities.
We hope from this you can catch a glimpse of the magic from which your print will arise. Thank you for supporting us, we promise to make it entirely worth your while.
We've just over a week left now, so please share the campaign with your friends and help us reach our target.
