We're the Interactive Architecture Studio - Research Cluster 3 at the Bartlett School of Architecture UCL.
In the past year we've built kinetic structures that wildly roam Victoria Park, worn prosthetics that test the extreme limits of human bearability, choreographed dances with industrial robots, we’ve built cyclones and sculpted clouds out of sugar, been hypnotised by our own heartbeat, seen sound shape material, we’ve stood on the Moon Temple of Tenochtitlan, had an expedition to the Arctic Circle, witnessed and listened to the Aurora Borealis, and performed surreal shadow puppetry in the Tanks at Tate Modern. Its been a special year.
So we've decided that at our up coming Graduate Exhibition we'd really like to make a special publication and build an amazing show. We're hoping you might be able to help us realise this by pledging support.
If we don't make our target of pledges we won't get anything and everyone will be sad BUT we hope that won't happen and we've been working late into the night on a beautiful catalogue which we'd like to share with you.
We're producing a paperback version and a larger luxury hardback version of the catalogue. About 50% of your pledge goes towards paying for the book and the rest towards supporting the exhibition.
All pledges big and small will receive a thank you in the publication. Those who are super generous will get an extra special thank you. We hope you consider pledging support and thank you for taking the time to watch our film and read about our campaign.
Risks and challenges
We've published a number of books before so we know what we're doing.
Digital Architecture: Passages Through Hinterlands - Hardcover: 192 pages
- ISBN-10: 0956363903
Fabricate: Making Digital Architecture - Paperback: 260 pages
Publisher: Riverside Architectural Press - ISBN-10: 1926724186
We've made books before with the publisher we're going to be using so we're confident that we'll produce a great looking, well made book. The catalogs will be printed and bound in October and we aim to send them out before the end of the month.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
