What is Protein Noodles?
Protein Noodles is the ultimate convenient, protein-rich, air-dried noodles. I chose the air-dry process because it is the best, and healthiest option compared to alternatives:
Deep fried: This is the process chosen by traditional instant noodle manufacturers because it was cheap. But, in addition to the high fat content, to make the noodles chewy and prevent the noodles from sticking together, they had to coat the noodles with a wax coating which takes our body two days to clean out. Finally, since year 2000, this wax coating has been found to cause cancers.
2. Hand-made and Sun-dried: A process used by a small village in southern Taiwan for over 100 years and made popular again in recent years. This process has been deemed unhealthy because when left outside to dry, birds are often found contaminating the noodles, and no retailer will risk harming their customers by selling sun-dried noodles.
3. Air Dried: No oils, no wax and no contamination from outside elements. Air-dried noodles are the safest process for instant noodles, period. I’m a simple guy so please forgive me for not bringing in any Michelin star chefs to create recipes for us because I don’t think it’s needed. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. The flavors that exist in the market today are more than enough to keep you happy. In addition, we will strive to put the best flavors available, from the night markets of Taiwan to the high-end restaurants of New York, Tokyo and Paris. Over time, through feedback from our community, we will bring the best flavors and ingredients, in the world, to you.
Here are what we have in store for you:
Stir Noodle: We are launching with stir noodles. What is stir Noodle: It is a non-soup based instant noodle. The first flavor will be a spicy black bean peppercorn flavor called “MALA”. Over time, we will roll out other flavors like French onion, Black Bean Miso Flavor “Zha-Jiang”, Sesame Flavor and more.
MALA Flavor: We chose to go with Spicy Mala flavor because of its uniqueness. While Mala flavor is very well know in Asia, it isn't very well known outside of Asia. It's not spicy in the sense that your mouth is burning; it has a mild numbing effect, brought on by the peppercorns used to develop the flavor. These peppercorns are specially sourced from the mountains of Chengdu, China and cooked into a MALA flavor found in the Mala hotpot restaurants in Taiwan. Mixed with Miso, black bean and soysauce, the flavors from the peppercorns are best brought out. Try it, you'll love it!
Don’t find the sauce flavors you like yet? You can mix in your own, pesto sauce, tomato sauce, chili oil and garlic sauce or whatever sauce you desire!
Soup Noodle: is a soup based instant noodle which we will launch in the third quarter of 2019, starting with Chicken flavor, Beef flavor, Seafood flavor, Mushroom flavor, Vegetable flavor and more!
WHO WAS BEHIND THIS SIMPLE IDEA?
Hi, my name is Robert Brown, the founder of www.proteinnoodles.com. I grew up eating instant noodles, stir noodles, soup noodles, fried noodles and whatever adjective you can add to noodles, I ate it!
I don’t remember much of my childhood, but I do remember this: When my father worked for the State Department, we lived in Taiwan where I was born and raised. There, typhoons were frequent and normal, and often, we’d find our home flooded and we would have no electricity for a couple of days. But no matter how bad it got, I was always able to light a candle, boil some water, pour it on the instant noodles cover the bowl with a plate, wait for 3 minutes, and bring comfort to my surroundings. Since then, I’ve loved instant noodles; all types of noodles. I love noodles!
I ate noodles through high school, throughout my service in the U.S. Marines, we ate it all the time in the field. Even traded cooked noodles, in our helmets, out in the field, with the Korean ROK Marines. I ate noodles when I had hangovers, breakups, you name it, I could always find a reason to eat noodles. All my friends on social media think I’m noodle nutcase. Why? Where ever I go in the world, I post pictures of bowls of noodles.
But, there was always one story that stuck in the back of my mind. This story originated in Taiwan, in the early 70’s, where a college student, loved his instant noodles so much, he ate it every meal, without adding anything nutritious to it, and died. That spelled the end to my favorite instant noodles because the government shut down the company. That story always stuck with me, in the back of my mind, during each bowl I ate, throughout my lifetime.
WHAT DROVE ME TO GO THIS FAR?
We started and developed Protein Noodles to impact and upgrade people’s everyday training routine, whether to build lean muscle, or lose weight, through convenient, nutritious, and filling meals, without compromising taste and texture.
It all began in 2016 when my love for noodles and passion for nutrition and fitness sparked my interest and got my gears working towards developing instant noodles with added protein but without the unnecessary sodium and other chemicals that put noodles under a bad light. This idea further motivated me to reinvent unhealthy food and turn it into an innovative diet plan that aims to provide controlled portions and balanced nutrition per serving to people who love noodles but also care about being fit.
I firmly believe that healthy could still be tantamount to simple and delicious. A lot of people like instant noodles because they are quick, easy, and satisfying. So, we developed Protein Noodles to be just like traditional instant noodles, but with added high-quality plant-based proteins, while minimizing potentially damaging ingredients.
Given that we are living in a fast-paced world, we aim to make healthy eating convenient. And with Protein Noodles, we know that we can create a difference in inspiring people to live a healthier life, one packet at a time.

Risks and challenges
Given that we have already developed the stir noodles product, the challenges we face now is:
1. Ensuring that we have enough funding to get the stir noodles product to our backers.
2. We face some challenges in the development of the protein SOUP NOODLES. But, with our knowledge and experience, that was acquired during the development of the stir noodles, we believe we will be successful.
As such, the funding for this kickstarter campaign will be dedicated, in its entirety, to the delivering our existing Protein Stir Noodles to you, our valued backers, and the development, design and packaging for our Protein Soup Noodles!
