Dollhouse is a queer comic written and illustrated by Ray Nadine, and has been published online on a semi-weekly basis since January 2013. She studied art and graduated with a degree in Art & Design in December 2011, and since then has been consumed by making comics, particularly Dollhouse. It revolves around a group of people from St. Louis and the terrible decisions they make, and the consequences for their actions. It's definitely a drama, with a little bit of sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll mixed in there too. It is a long-form comic that updates usually on Tuesday and Thursdays, sometimes Wednesdays as well. Aside from the overlaying drama, it's a story about dreams, the paths that lead us to achieve them, and the obstacles to overcome. It's about how what we want can grow and change, and how a dream can evolve into something bigger. It's about dreams that we have to learn to let go in order to pave the way for something new.

Cover art for Vol. 1
Dollhouse: Gateway Songs Vol. 1 is a collection of the first four chapters of Dollhouse. Beginning around May 2013, Ray started printing the first few chapters as individual issues in very small print runs. And we mean hella small, like 50 copies small. A larger book like this would need to be printed in a much larger run for it to be cost effective, while maintaining a high quality.
If you aren't familiar with Kickstarter, it is a way to raise funds for creative projects and give back to those supporting the project. By pledging a given amount, you can get some sweet rewards associated with the project, or just the satisfaction of knowing you helped someone out! If enough pledges are made to reach the goal, then the project is funded and the money is collected from everyone who backed the project. If the goal is not met, then no one is charged, and the project will not reach fruition. It's an all-or-nothing funding, so you're never giving money to a project that won't be successful.

Pretty close to what the book will look like, just imagine it more 3-D and in your hands

Here's a sick pie chart to break down the funding:
Some deets on the books:
- UV gloss paperback cover
- 160 full-color pages
- 6x8 inches in size
- Includes chapters 1-4
- Registered with ISBNs on both paperback and PDF formats
Okay, okay, but what about the sweet backer rewards?

If bars aren't your thing, you can choose from a number of amazing dining places in St. Louis! Seriously, this city has some incredible food.
Hey, we can dream to reach some stretch goals, right? If the project is successfully funded, here are some perks to look forward to if certain goals are met:
-UNLOCKED- Fund the full run! At $6350, only a half run of books will be printed, but at $8000, the entire run can be printed! H E L L Y E A H.
Let's focus on funding the project first, then we can talk about some bigger, more ambitious goals we have in mind!
