About this project

When people think of the National Football League today, it's with the background of superstadiums - multi-deck monsters with scoreboards as big as the field itself. But there was a time when the players played on baseball infields, heading for end zones with their corners in dugouts, on fields surrounded by low fences, with players changing into their uniforms in hotels and fans using the area under the grandstand for a toilet. This new book looks at the history, by city, of the NFL's fields of play - when the Bears played in Wrigley Field and the Cardinals were in Chicago; when the NFL championship was held at a state fair grandstand; how teams went from playing on high school fields to domed stadiums

The reason I have registered on kickstarter is to provide funding for additional research, especially in the area of photography. Many photographs are only available for purchase, and it is not within my budget, but such a book requires them. I hope you agree. Feel free to contact me at ray.columns@yahoo.com with suggestions or comments. Thanks for reading!
