About this project
The world doesn’t need another shirt. It does need a better shirt. The RS01 is that shirt.
The RS01 was engineered from the ground up to meet your work and active life. It is a shirt built for the transitions. During the day it passes for well-cut office wear. En route, it lights up like a STOP sign. The RS01 was ruthlessly developed through endless prototyping, creative destruction, and fastidious attention to minutiae to wring out the perfect fit, material, and closures for your modern life. The result is an office-formal shirt that works as well in the crouch on your bike as it does at your desk, a shirt with minimal, clean details and an extra-sharp silhouette. It is also a shirt which lights up via 3M retroreflective when on the street. The RS01 is passive*, minimal design at it best.
*shouts when needed.
While we love smart tech solutions, nothing beats the straightforward simplicity of passive design. No USB cables, battery recharging and malfunctioning electronics - wear the RS01 and be seen.
We worked with a specialty technical fabric mill to make a custom fabric which has retroreflective woven into the material. Other reflective garments often have reflectivity printed on top, wearing out quickly, cracking, peeling and losing its luster. In the RS01 fabric, the reflectivity is durable and bright. The reflective element is invisibly nestled into the Shepherd's Check pattern. It stays hidden during the day, and pops out on the street.
We did backflips to develop our own pattern made specifically to stretch and twist. We reduced pattern pieces. We rethought sleeve construction. We tried, failed, and refined. The current construction is sleek and novel. It fits like a modern dress shirt and behaves like a second skin.
Keep it tight and flat. We removed pattern pieces, and sharpened the silhouette by bonding instead of sewing key elements of the RS01. The cuffs, collar, and wind block are all super-flush (the anti-Puffy shirt). This innovative construction will keep you looking, literally, sharp.
Desperate cyclists stuff newspapers down their shirts to block wind on chilly descents. No more. The RS01 integrates wind blocking panels directly into the shirt construction. We added sueded microfiber panels over the ribs to block just enough wind to keep out the chill. The back, armpits, and sleeves uncovered so you can dump heat as you warm up from the inside.
The cel phone hasn't yet been installed into your brain pan. Until then, easy access is the next best option. We installed a rear pocket into the seam with a snap-closure, so you can snag your cel in an instant. Keep your digital device easily at hand, balanced AND out of harm's way. (Yes, we designed the pocket to fit your 6" phablet)
Everything about the RS01 is "High Speed, Low Drag". We edited, questioned, tested, and reduced every. little. detail. These snaps are flush to the body, tough as nails, hold well, and fasten quickly and easily.
Most active transit options involve some degree of crouching, the cut of your garments should fit that posture. Keep your crack covered with a little extra. We've got your back.
The RS01 is tailored for a sharp, active fit with a modern silhouette.
