What's this book all about?
Worst Seat in the House is about: Henry Rathbone. The Lincoln Assassination. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The Civil War. But mostly the book is about Henry Rathbone. Why? Because there has never been a non-fiction book written about the man. Ever. This is the first one. This is a bewildering fact. Here's why:
- Henry Rathbone was one of only three people to truly witness Abraham Lincoln's Assassination.
- Rathbone was the only person to confront assassin John Wilkes Booth. Henry struggled with the killer, but ultimately lost after Booth slashed him with a dagger.
- Eighteen years later, Henry murdered his wife, Clara, by shooting her and stabbing her on Christmas Eve. He then turned the knife and stabbed himself five times.
- He spent the last twenty eight years of his life in an insane asylum in Germany.
Why would someone do this? That's what the book examines. We look at Henry's childhood, his involvement in the Civil War and most importantly what may or may not have happened during Lincoln's assassination. How did the events of Henry's Rathbone's life affect his mind?
After years of research, Worst Seat in the House, is finally ready. It's in the hands of the editor and almost ready for print!
This Kickstarter is in effect a pre-sale! But it's also a necessity to get the proper funds for printing costs. The goal is low, but the more books purchased the more I can print.
Worst Seat in the House will be a hardcover 6 x 9 book, with a jacket.
The publication date is April 15, 2014, but you'll get yours a month early!
Risks and challenges
