Beta Pass, Production Commences, Early-bird Survey, Experimenter's Kitting

Posted by Alex Eames - RasPi.TV (Creator)

Dear RasPiO Pro Hat backers...

Beta Feedback Uncovered No Major Issues

All the Beta rewards went out in the third week of March. We then went away for the Easter holidays. During this time the Beta backers had a play with their Pro Hats. Their feedback was largely very positive and useful. No major faults or breakages were reported. Thank you very much to all our Beta testers.

Production Boards Ordered

So I've gone ahead and commissioned the production boards, which are being shipped in stages. We will QC test the first tranche before requesting the rest. This is in case any issues arise in production.

We're not sure exactly when they will arrive. We were given a time-frame of about 3-4 weeks. But I know better than to make any shipping promises until the boards are in my hands and tested, so I'm not going to speculate about that.

Early-birds Surveyed

The shipping survey for the £10 Early-bird reward category was sent out this week. If you are in that category, please log into your KS account and complete it, if you haven't already.

Other categories will be surveyed a bit later.

Kitting Up of Experimenter's Kits Begun

While we wait for the Pro Hat production boards, we've got a chance to clear the mountain of components from the living room floor. There's 110 kits in that IKEA box...

Instructions And Experiments

I will soon be making a start on writing some experiments to use with your RasPiO Pro Hat.

Google+ Community For Pro Hat

I've started a Google+ community for the RasPiO Pro Hat here...

...where people can discuss the Pro Hat, Beta testing etc. Feel free to come and join.

That's all for today. There will be further updates when there is something new to report.

Thank you once again for supporting the RasPiO Pro Hat project.

Alex, you should stop systematically under-promising and over-delivering during your Kickstarter campaigns. You are set the bar too high for other creators.
Cheers, and very much looking forward to receiving the Pro Hat and kit.
