Finally I got Mine!!! I am really Happy to start using analogzero.

    4. Brad Isaac on July 9, 2016

Got mine a few weeks ago. Finally had a few hours to put it together. (I am a beginner to the pi add-on kits and haven’t soldered for over a decade.)

This is a great kit. The parts are all high quality. And the instructions are excellent. he goes above and beyond to provide step by step instructions - including soldering everything together. So good, I now wish I had gone for one of his more comprehensive kits.

Got mine yesterday, opened it after a busy day
Checked my package if what I got is complete
my experimenter's kit is complete, but my Analog Zero is kind of missing an 8-way header
the stretch goal made a relief though since the 2 of 3 4-way header can make up for it

Hi Andy. Sorry about the squashed legs. Actually I placed them all in foam myself. So this must be the German delivery workers "playing football" with the packages. I've noticed since my first KS that Germany has an unusually high proportion of shipping damage compared with other countries. Maybe it's down to their processes and not their people? I have no idea.

That said, however, this is the first and only instance of this issue so far in nearly 1000 packages. So it's thus far an acceptable failure rate. If there is a problem, and you need us to, we will replace parts as needed. :)

My twin pack arrived in Germany this morning - thanks for such a fast and smooth service!

On small point, the IC had very badly bent legs despite being mounted on a foam block. I haven't had time to test it yet, but I think it will be OK. It might be something to check though if you received the part already pressed into the foam.

Thanks again for showing thet Kickstarter doesn't have to be a long and painful birth of a project!

    19. Alex Eames - RasPi.TV 7-time creator on June 27, 2016

@Portable Creator. No. Sorry. :( I never offer international tracked shipping on my KS projects because it's overwhelmingly expensive. It adds about £10 (which is more than the basic pledge) AND every single item (909 backers) has additional paper-work that can only be done manually. It's really only worth doing for high-value items.

But, I did just publish a shipping update.

    34. Alex Eames - RasPi.TV 7-time creator on June 8, 2016

@karl Not a change of design, just an optional tweak. If you wanted to make a really low profile version you could use surface mount caps, ditch the chip socket etc. and make it really quite a bit sleeker :)

    43. Alex Eames - RasPi.TV 7-time creator on June 1, 2016

@JanW Thanks for your kind words. I'm aiming to get this one out the door quickly because it's a fairly simple project. And yes, I do like the idea of breaking a few records :) But most important is that people get...
      a) a nice product that is useful to them
      b) a good overall experience

I hope I'm getting a bit better each time I do a project. I try to be as open as I can be about things. I have learnt to share even bad news quickly because "the backers can cope with it" and they might have some useful input.

"The experience of sharing product development with it's ups and downs is kind of baked into the system (as long as creators communicate, that is)."

From your lips other creators' ears! This project is really exemplary in speed, transparency, information provided about what goes on behind the scenes... This is my 22nd Kickstarter project backed, all of them did the post-funding "What's going to happen next"-update, and I don't remember seeing one as as limpid as yours.

This, plus the speed of the fulfillment! First wave of rewards shipped at J+1 after funding ends!!??? If that is not a speed record for technology projects, I'd be mightily surprised. I'm absolutely blown away!

    45. Alex Eames - RasPi.TV 7-time creator on June 1, 2016

@C Griggs Thank you. It's all good food for thought. People enjoy KickStarter though. The experience of sharing product development with it's ups and downs is kind of baked into the system (as long as creators communicate, that is). So there's more to it than just sales. But I will be doing KS and non-KS products as time goes by. Still just getting established really. Conincidentally - just noticed your name on a Pro Hat address label going out in today's shipment :)

    46. C Griggs on June 1, 2016

Got the email, made my pledge, paid my money, completed my survey. Only now have I actually had the time to look and see what the project is, looks good.
I'm sure you could do away with the campaign and all the pictures and just post 'something new, get it now before it's gone' and still hit all targets such is your reputation now.
      Long may you continue.

    47. Alex Eames - RasPi.TV 7-time creator on May 31, 2016

@Joachim - Sorry I didn't get back to you in time. I see you made a decision anyway. Noted. :)

      @Anthony - Thank you :)

@Alastair - aiming to get going as soon as we can, but we have to wait at least a week to see which pledges get dropped.

@Jamie - haven't you got it yet? (jk) Hopefully you won't have to wait long :)
