Let's Bring 911 to the 21st Century!
We are a team from MIT, Harvard, and some of the largest tech companies and national labs that came together after personally experiencing 911 failure. We spent two years working with over 100 dispatch centers globally to develop RapidSOS One-Touch-911.
This award-winning technology is the most efficient and effective system for communicating during a life-threatening emergency, transmitting data from your phone directly to first responders in a matter of seconds.
Your contribution will help us roll this technology out globally – join us in transforming emergency communication!

On January 17, 2008, Denise Amber Lee, a 21-year-old mother of two, was kidnapped from her home in Florida. Over the course of the next six hours five separate 911 calls were made around the incident. Remarkably, Mrs. Lee herself managed to make one of these calls, tied up in the back of her abductor’s green Camaro. Over the chilling several minute phone call, Mrs. Lee begs for her life while trying to secretly answer dispatcher questions. However, since the majority of mobile 911 calls cannot be located, Mrs. Lee could not be found. Ultimately, this story ended in tragedy when Mrs. Lee was raped and murdered.
Mrs Lee's story and so many other stories around 911 failure combined with our own experiences brought our team together to solve this challenge.
We are dedicated to harnessing cutting edge technology to change the outcome of millions of emergencies across the United States and globally.
RapidSOS’ team has developed mission critical code at two national labs, developed back-end and mobile products for numerous tech start-ups, and collectively have helped over 70 technology companies achieve commercial success. Our close-knit founding team of engineers and entrepreneurs originate from MIT, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and Penn.
RapidSOS’ proprietary emergency communication platform uses cloud telecommunications and data analytics to power a number of award-winning products. Risks and challenges
RapidSOS has worked closely over the last two years with over 100 emergency dispatch centers to develop the technology. The system has been extensively tested across the United States. Primary development work remaining centers on international capabilities. While the system has been demonstrated to work with any 3-digit emergency number, we do not own infrastructure internationally and will need to work with some of the major global telecom players to perform the data routing on our technology.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
