Wow I backed this and never got the final project.

    2. Jeff Conan Vargon on May 22, 2017

Every time I read these final comments the sadder I become. No promised DVDs, or equal compensation, for us denotes no respect for the backers or our support of this project.

    3. Adam on January 25, 2017

Kickstarter doesn't care; they got their money. For what it's worth (nothing really) you can go to the bottom of the campaign page and "report this project." Bakshi will never get another cent from me.

    4. Thad on October 19, 2016

Sorry that my last comment was disrespectful and inconsiderate. That's what you get when a creator is disrespectful and inconsiderate. I'm not sure why anyone would want to waste shelf space on Ralph's latest, but people should at least get the DVDs they paid for. Considering Ralph's whole career has been bloviating about liars and hustlers, you'd think he'd make good in the public eye. I guess Kickstarter's the place where cartoonmakers can screw over their fanbases (see Ralph's pupil John K.) I knew he was a hypocrite and the finished (?!) cartoon would be unwatchable, but I still thought it cool to toss a couple bills to the old boy. Never give a known conman money.

    5. David Millard on October 19, 2016

I live in rural Upstate NY - have internet over wireless 4G, and data is capped - so I need to use up precious internet data that I need to be able to work from home to view a movie I paid to get as a DVD. Thanks for nothing. Will never support one of your projects again. May they all fail. Said with respect and consideration so I don't violate the kickstarter standards for comments.

Huh, guess it's a good thing I'd pledged for the signed "Fire and Ice" Blu-ray then, got it 2 years back. *sigh* Goes to show Kickstarter isn't for everyone...

"we won't be shipping the signed Dvds. Sorry."
You gotta be kidding us. This is low and a fraud. What kind of kickstarter campaign is this?
      I want my money back!!!

    12. Jeff Conan Vargon on October 8, 2016

Thanks for the highly disappointing, long delayed response. I know for a number of us this physical DVD copy of the short was a big incentive in our pledging for this project. Will you be offering anything in the way of compensation? Even a signed copy of another of your films would be better than nothing.

    13. Ralph Bakshi 2-time creator on October 7, 2016

Jeff, we won't be shipping the signed Dvds. Sorry. We will be putting LDCI on youtube (so you can view it anytime) very soon.

    14. Jeff Conan Vargon on October 7, 2016

It doesn't seem like we are going to get an answer to our requests. I have emailed and posted requests for info on Facebook as well. No answer. Anyone else?

    15. Jeff Conan Vargon on August 6, 2016

Any news on when our signed DVDs will be shipped to us? It has been a while.

    16. Chris Leonido on July 21, 2016

Any word on the DVD release of this?

    17. Steven Remington on July 9, 2016

Any news about when we're supposed to get our signed dvds? I'd really like to mark this project off on the completed and delivered list.

Still waiting on my"Full Digital Package" and DVD. Any update on either one?

    19. Paolo Gilli on June 19, 2016

What's up with the latest mail?!?!

"We promised you 6 minutes and a DVD.
Here is 22 minutes - pure Bakshi
      ... make your own.
      Enjoy - It's Yours."

WTF? "make your own"?! I want my official DVD, NOW.
We've all waited (patiently) long enough.
I didn't pay 70 bucks so that I can burn myself a DVD.
Give us a serious update or I want my money back. Enough is enough.

I initially saw the link for the download ($5 as I recall) but can'y find it now. Can anyone help?

    22. Kevin Kovacs on April 6, 2016

I think that the film was made to run longer at the expense of its watchability. I would have rathered the film be shorter with more finished animations

    23. Missing avatar

tom thul on April 4, 2016

I got the link for the wallpapers...on that link you could download the short for $2.99...So.. I paid
the $2.99 on top of the $100.00 pledge to "finally" see the short....better than nothing...

    24. Jeff Conan Vargon on March 26, 2016

The only thing I regretted in seeing this new short was that it wasn't longer! Ralph Bakshi, once again, has proven to the world that no other animator out there can touch him creatively. I am looking forward to receiving the actual DVD when it is ready.

    25. Thad on March 25, 2016

It seems the free viewing e-mails were extraordinarily botched. I did get my link, last month, after bugging them on Facebook about it.

The update I received yesterday (65) is BULLSHIT!!!!! I paid $100.00 and for my $100.00 I was to receive the "FULL DIGITAL PACKAGE" ....Where is it????????????

    27. Missing avatar

cyriak harris on March 24, 2016

"Also, many of you did not redeem your free viewing of LDCI, either. Only a fraction actually watched the movie."

I don't remember seeing an email about that, I'm guessing many others didn't either. I gather from comments below that we had a 24 hour period to watch it. Think maybe it would have been better to have a more convenient way for backers to view it for free.

Anyway, I'm happy enough to pay an extra few quid for the download version on vimeo, so thats cool.

    28. Adam on March 23, 2016

I decided to ask about the full digital package every time I receive a non-Kickstarter email from them. The latest was the "Paper Moon" art. The response was "Hi Adam - they are coming soon !! Almost ready -
      Thank you! - Victoria

Victoria Bakshi Yudis" I thanked her for the reply and requested an update for everyone via Kickstarter.

I too am looking forward to the full digital package, but it sounds like my fellow backers are being ignored when they ask about it. An update addressing this issues in question would go a long way.

yet another kickstarter project where the backers got SCREWED!!!!!! I want my money back!!!!

    31. Missing avatar

      skillcrane on February 9, 2016

Just to re-iterate: Things the backers have not gotten as of almost 3 years AFTER the agreed upon release date:

"Your own digital copy of the short after its release" (still waiting)

"access to a pre-release internet screening of the short" (never happened; was changed to "if you want to see this BEFORE those who were supposed to see BEFORE the others, you have to shell out MORE money")

"Full Digital Package along with a signed DVD of "Last Days of Coney Island" upon it's release" (again, never happened as of February 2016)

So, for my $65 contribution (actually make that $70 thanks to the Vimeo extortion), I received a color copy of a poster & a doodle. Also a 24 hour viewing period well after the rules were changed & people who wanted to see the short were forced to pay more. Seems a bit off compared to what was promised.

Again, anyone reading this, understand I am only posting this after 4 or 5 unanswered messages asking about the status of the project. For an artist who spent the majority of his career talkign about how he was screwed by everyone, I expect for the same not to happen to those who bother to support his work.

      skillcrane on February 9, 2016

Out of respect, I have sent multiple messages to Ralph before posting this. May 2013 was the expected date that we would finally receive our rewards for supporting the project. I understand it ended up being much more ambitious & patiently waited until it was finished. When the project was finished 2 years after the target date, how were the supporters rewarded? By being told if they wanted to watch what we had already paid to see & what was delivered grossly outside of the projected window, that we had to shell out additional money to do so through VOD, or we could continue to wait even longer until the codes were finally sent out. Even got suckered into paying again to see it since the game was changed to where those of us who supported the project had to wait until after those who paid a couple dollars, which didn't sit well, but again, I paid yet more money to support the project. Now, almost 3 years after we were supposed to get our DVDs we paid for, & after being suckered into paying extra to watch VOD, with more attempts to shill the project for additional money (thankfully I did not bite those times) & even after multiple attempts at contacting Ralph & being ignored, I am starting to think that we will never receive the rewards we paid for & were promised. Not trying to be a dick, but exactly how long should one expect to sit idly by & not say anything? It is now January 2016 & no mention of the DVD even existing at this point. I'm assuming this public call out will change nothing, but it really is saying something that an artist that I have continued to financially support over the years would do something like this. Please show the same respect to those of us who shelled out our hard earned money to support your art that we showed to you over the years & deliver what you have promised. It is the least you could do, especially after such a long wait & particularly if you ever expect someone to support you in the future. Frustrated but still a fan (for the time being).

    33. Thad on January 28, 2016

You know, if anyone was this late delivering for Ralph back in the day, they'd have been fired on the spot. If sending out a digital copy of the film is too much for you guys to handle, can I just get my money refunded? I'll gladly send you the cel back. Thanks.

    34. Thad on December 23, 2015

Given how prompt and orderly the physical rewards were sent out, you'd think sending out an access code wouldn't take two months...

    44. Thad on October 30, 2015

Backers won't be seeing it for another few months, unless they want to pony up the fiver to watch it on Vimeo. Cause, ya know, that's totally fair for us fuckin' assholes that already paid to get this made.
