Reimei no Gakuen is an Original English Language Visual Novel (OELVN) set in a modern fantasy world. You'll encounter several branching paths — each with their own secrets to uncover, dangers to survive, and choices to be made.

The world is full of mysteries and secrets.
In the shadows, beyond what ordinary people can see, demons, witches and other supernatural beings live and fight.
But on a night 20 years ago, the balance of this world was offset. Until today, no one knew what truly happened that night. The only sign, one that even normal humans could sense, was the 'Hoshi no Ame': a rain of colorful stars all around the world. Since then, there have been several mysterious occurrences that even supernatural beings could not explain.
One of these occurrences is the appearance of the Shin.
The Shin is a mysterious special ability granted to a few human children who were born in the past 20 years. However, this power comes at the cost of great misfortune, bringing danger to to the bearer and those around them. Because of this several tragedies happened.
Now those children, who have survived such a cruel fate, are slowly gathering in one place to finally reveal the truth:
The story has a modern-day setting. Most humans believe that the world is ordinary and that there are no such things as fairies or demons. However, mankind has been wrong... they actually exist, only they keep their presence a secret.
The shin is a special ability granted to some of the human children who were born after that night 20 years ago. It takes various forms and its nature is completely unpredictable. There is no way to tell who will have it and what form it will take.
Only one thing is certain about it. Its side effect: misfortune.
Aurora Academy is a famous school with outstanding results in education and sports, but only in the eyes of normal humans.
In reality, it's a place designed to protect the children who own a shin.

The characters featured and type of goods for small, medium and big merchandise items will be decided by the backers in a survey after the Kickstarter ends. Possible choices:

When will the rewards be delivered?
Rewards will be delivered in several phases according to their type. Here is the general idea of how it will go:
1. During Kickstarter campaign: Designing of Cameo Add-ons will start right away.
2. Immediately after Kickstarter: Survey about rewards (types, featured characters, add-ons, etc.), Your name in the credits, Backer news
3. A few months after Kickstarter: Art commissions and the production of hand-made sketches will start
4. After game completion: Physical goods, Artbooks, Light Novel, Digital Wallpaper and Icon Sets (The reason for this delivery date is that these rewards will have lots of spoilers. The story and characters are full of secrets which shouldn't be revealed too early ^^)

I came up with the original concept of this visual novel and started up its production. My goal is to make this game into a quality debut project. After it, I would like to continue creating meaningful, exciting and funny stories with art that is beautiful and enhances the story.

By raising outside funding for the game, I will be able to commission quality music, work together with an experienced programmer and add more content to the game.
The initial funding goal covers the basic expenses during game development such as proofreading and some original tracks. Stretch goals after that will allow me to focus more on the art and writing, hire assistants and add more features (e.g. voice acting). This means Reimei no Gakuen will be released earlier in a more polished form.
I have seen great visual novels succeed here and I believe this project can join them.

Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge is probably timing. Especially with most team members living in different countries and time zones. So we will manage the schedule really carefully, we would like to see the finished game as much as any of you!
Reward production speed is also a very important matter, so that will be handled by a team member who has the experience needed for it.
There may be hurdles along the way, but honestly they wouldn't be the first ones during the developement of this game. We are confident, we have what it takes to overcome them.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
