About
My name is Rae and I'm a writer. I currently have four novels and four anthologies that have been released by various publishers. All can be found here. I also have two completed novels and a screenplay that are looking for buyers.
There's a book I'd love you to help me write. Titled Living Las Vegas, it aims to look at the people who live and work in this fascinating city.

What does Living Las Vegas mean to me?
The idea for Living Las Vegas was one of those early morning ideas. The ideas that come to you long before dawn is breaking. It was 3am and I was in a taxi, on my way back to McCarran airport. Chatting to the driver, I discovered that she'd moved to Vegas several years beforehand. Not because she was trying to win big or to become famous but in order to provide a better life for her young family. Her story was like so many others I'd heard during the week, people who'd left their homes and moved across the country, or even around the world, to try and provide for those they loved. While I was waiting to board my plane back to the UK, I drafted the idea for Living Las Vegas, a book that would find these people an put their inspiring stories in to one place.
For me, it's a book that will put some good back into the world. We are constantly being bombarded with how we should look, how we should act, what we should eat, what we should wear. Our senses are overloaded with scenes of chaos and destruction, war and bloodshed. We rarely stop to take in what is around us or be thankful for the lives we lead.
Among the hustle and bustle of the city are humble and inspiring people who are determined to provide a better life for themselves and their families. They may have started with nothing, fled a bad situation, or just found themselves down on their luck. Amid their problems, they have managed to build something from nothing and create the life they wanted.
Nowhere is this more prominent than in Las Vegas. In a city where image is everything, these are the people who are the backbone of the world's largest playground. They are the ones who clean our rooms, cook our food and drive our taxis. They are mostly nameless yet they are sons and daughters, husband and wives, mothers and fathers. They are a workforce that keeps growing and evolving and does it all with a smile. They are a family like no other.
I want to put names and faces to these people and collect their stories in a single volume. This project is just going to be me, my laptop and my little voice recorder so I'd love it if you could come along for the ride, too.
Everyone has a story to tell. What's yours?

There are a lot of rewards for you to choose from and I'd love it if you'd join me. If you're from Las Vegas, please do feel free to get in touch. Thank you so much for considering this project.
There will be print and electronic editions of this book as well as a blog and website. My author website and blog can be found at www.veetu-industries.co.uk.
Risks and challenges
Production Problems
Books can take time to write. Sometimes they're finished, edited, laid out, designed and printed on schedule. Sometimes, due to circumstances outside of an author's control, they can be delayed.
(I once held a book launch with no books due to them being held up at customs. That was... interesting. But due to a venue and bands already having been booked and paid for as well as people taking time to attend, there was no way to reschedule. Everyone got their books in the end, albeit a couple of weeks late!)
Production problems can include:
Delay in printing.
Delay in shipping from the printers.
Delays from editors or designers.
Delays with interviews for the book.
Hardware problems.
To alleviate hardware problems, which is something that is in my hands, back ups of audio, video and text will be created on a regular basis.
While I don't foresee any problems, I will keep you up to date through every step of the process and any delays will be posted here.
Illness/Injury/Death
Unfortunately, the inevitable can happen. Hopefully it won't. But it can. Anything that delays this project, including illness and injury, will be documented here.
