About this project
Craft Trap is a 2D Puzzle Platformer RPG for Windows & Mac. The Game has 2 mode; the Story Mode (following the story of Reemo and discovering his true purpose) & Adventure Mode (Openworld focus on crafting and elite boss hunting).
Craft Trap is a game where you will experience:
- A Creative puzzle like Braid
- A Dark & Horror Ambiance like Limbo
- A Fun way to Gather resources & Craft like Minecraft
- A Beautiful Art-style & Narrated World like Bastion.
In this game, Players will uncover the story by themselves, there is no linear path on the story. The player needs to find what is their true purpose. Some player actions & choices may affect the story.

This is how I came up with the name of the game, I just find the most common things in my favorite games. Chrono Trigger (CT) is my favorite game of all time. Then there's CL4-TP (ClapTrap) which is one of my favorite game character. Lastly, I only play MMORPG that has decent crafting feature & has a class that uses traps. So it became Craft Trap.

Craft Trap is about the adventure of a Trapper who discovered that he has a magical power. Out of his curiosity, Reemo venture to unravel the mystery behind his unique ability. Equip with magical imbued traps, you must survive while exploring the World of Espyria in search of his purpose.
What makes Craft Trap more interesting is that while you explore the World of Espyria, you will encounter familiar character from Classic Children's Story. In this game those stories will be dark & a little disturbing.
You will explore the hand drawn World of Espyria, a world full of Mysteries & Adventures. Discover the secret of Espyria. Explore the beautiful towns, dungeons, forest, desserts, mines & ruins.
In Craft Trap, you rely on your trap to survive. You don't have any weapons to hack and slash through your enemies. Most Monster and Wild Animals can kill you instantly. You really need a good strategy on how to capture or eliminate them. Jump is not part of this game, you need to rely on ladder, vines or your trap to avoid your enemy.
Some Monster & Animals in Craft Trap are a bit clever, they can detect traps, disable traps or use it against you, Some also immune to a particular traps so you need to imbued it with magic to be able to damage them. You also have a limited inventory space for traps, so make sure you have the best traps before exploring further.
The illustration above shows that you need to open a door guarded by a monster. But the door switch can only be activated by a monster. Using a specific trap, you will be able to open the door and unlocked a new areas. So here is the solution to the puzzle.
- You notice that there is a crack on the wall, you need to set a Bomb Trap to be able to completely break it, and a debris will fall. You need to activate this once the monster is standing over the Door Switch
- Now you need to set a Bear Trap to immobilize the monster to be able to get to the other side.
- Now you set the Spring Floor and lure the monster. Once the monster immobilize by Bear Trap, quickly use the Spring Floor to get to the other side.
- Now set a Flaming Ground, the immobilize effect on the monster will now fall off, the monster will start chasing you. But since you set a Flaming Ground, the monster will be burn and it will find a nearest water. The monster will rush to the waterfalls, now activate the Bomb Trap so the Debris will crush the monster on top of the Door Switch.
*throwing a rock is one way to lure a monster in Craft trap.
There are lot's of stuff you can do in Craft Trap. You can explore dungeons and mines to find precious metals and recipes for your traps. You can hunt animals using your trapping skills to gather crafting materials. Buy a farm and sell your crops to the villager or you use them on your trap recipes.
Crafting is important in this game, you might encounter mumu or animals that require a specific trap to capture/kill them. In later parts of the game you will need a better armor for better protection and also helps you set-up traps easily with their camouflage effect.
Back in 2001 Our eldest brother created a scrabble game, it was his College thesis. On holiday he continued his thesis in our parent's house. I saw how he programmed, designed and debugged his game. This is the time I developed my interest in making games. My brothers and I have plans that once I graduated, we would start our own company and name it NetroSoft.
While I was in college my elder brother started focusing on Digital Design, he even won 2 times as Best Personal Website in the Philippines (he also won 3rd Place in National Digital Artist Awards).
When I graduated, I start learning Programming (Ruby, C++) because I badly wanted to make a game. I started making small games just for fun and experience. And then there's the bad news, our Eldest Brother was diagnosed with a terminal cancer. All our plans just disappeared.
And I started spending time playing games, just wasting my time because I really wanted to entertain myself after our eldest brother died. I may have been very productive those years but I learned a lot about games.
While spending my time with the internet especially on Reddit. I discover a lot of stuff like Unity3d, Game Maker and also Kickstarter. And it's time for us to move forward, we will make a game, not just ordinary game but a game that our eldest brother would be proud.
Adam Hart is the guy that is managing the team. He will be in-charge of the budgeting of the funds, marketing & game publishing.

Currently we are only 3 in our team, it may take more than a year to finish this game. This is also our first project so it may take a while for us to get familiarized with game Licensing & Publishing. We will add more talented people in our team once we have successfully funded to make sure we can finish the game in a shorter time.
Worst case scenario is if Rad Netro happen to step on one of Reemo's Trap (hopefully not), he is the one who's in charge with Concept, Story & Level Design. We might start another Kickstarter project on a technology that allows you to extract information from a brain; to be able to continue the project.
Let's squash those bugs! Once we reach the Alpha/Beta Stage of our Craft Trap, we will make it available to our supporters so you can help us fix tons of tons of bugs. We are a lurker of steam game forum, we spend time reading the game forum to determine the most common mistake and errors. Our team will not publish Craft Trap if there will be any game breaking bug.
