On any given day I get hundreds of emails from people asking me for help. It’s everything from questions about yoga poses to people asking how to cope with the death of a loved one. During this past year I have been developing oneOeight; an online platform dedicated to healing with a foundation in yoga. We need YOUR help in order to ensure we can raise startup funds to launch oneOeight.tv and continue our biggest mission yet, as one global tribe.
There is a HUGE need for a place of healing in the online world! A place where we can create community on a deeper level and find the tools to create a happy, balanced life.
To address this great need, though, we need your help. We're pretty far along in developing the team and content for oneOeight. We've produced videos that we're really proud of and have assembled a small operational team and an awesome group of guides across wellness, yoga, food and travel. But the costs of starting up and running even just month one of oneOeight are steep. We also want to be sure that we'll have ongoing support to keep oneOeight alive. So we've come to you for the first $108,000, which funny enough is exactly what it will cost for us to launch oneOeight on 10/8 and operate it for just one month.
You guys... We are the most and quickest funded yoga project on any crowdfunding platform ever! And last week we were a Kickstarter Staff Pick! I can't even contain the joy! I am so proud of this tribe!
We've gathered new photos of our rewards. To read more about what makes each reward special, check out Update #14 (publishing it in just a few minutes).
The Yoga Every Damn Day Tee and Tank
#yogaeverydamnday is a mantra that we love and live by. After many design concepts, I reached out to my good friend Rachel Miller who is a super talented graphic designer. When I saw her design, I knew it was perfect! You can see more of her work on Instagram at @rachmills.
oneOeight Ultra Thin Travel Mat by Jade Yoga
At 1/16" thick and about 1.5lbs, this is JadeYoga’s thinnest and lightest yoga mat – it can fold and is perfect for yogis on the go. Incredible grip, great comfort and eco-friendly. Jade mats are made sustainably with natural rubber from rubber trees in Malaysia and made in the U.S. Jade plants a tree for every mat sold – with over 850,000 trees planted so far. We love this!
The oneOeight Mala by Boho Gypsy
We’ve collaborated with the lovely Annah from Boho Gypsy across the globe as she creates each mala in India. The malas are handcrafted by independent artisans whose families have been part of the beautiful craft of India for decades. Our mala is made of rudrkahsa (spiritual power, self-confidence, courage), jasper (healing stone), and clear quartz (support any aspect of your life). The hollow pendant is a symbol of our oneOeight community.
The oneOeight Balanced Feather Pant by Teeki
Teeki works closely with a textile mill that takes plastic bottles and transforms them into their special high durability, fast-wicking fabric and have sought out a zero-waste alternative to standard printing practices. They've taken great strides to meet the highest eco standards recognized by the fashion industry. Their certifications include: Bluesign, oeko-tex standard 100, and green mark. For this and many other reasons, we love them.
Now EVERYONE who pledges $1 or more will have the opportunity to be featured on oneOeight.tv (photo and name) on a special page, get the oneOeight rings for your profile photos, and updates one everything oneOeight!
You asked and we are happy to provide the The Sweaty Practice Pack which includes the tee or tank and the oneOeight pant for $145 + other perks. I love a sweaty practice in the morning!
Inspired by you, the Yogi Essentials reward bundles some of our most popular rewards. Find it in the $275 level! Hooray!
We've hit $250K which means ALL backers who pledge $15 or more now get a TWO-month subscription to the site when we go live on 10/8/15! The rewards say one, but you get two!
Also, check out update #11 to learn how you can apply to be a oneOeight intern (yay). We have faith that we will hit our next stretch goal, so we've begun taking applications from all backers.
108 is a sacred number with significance found in many different areas of life including spirituality, astrology, mathematics, astronomy and more.
We chose oneOeight as a name for this community because while it is revered in the yogi tradition, it is made up by simple numbers used in modern society. Our platform is a place for ancient tradition and healing practices to come to life in today’s world.
The mala beads you often see yoga and meditation practitioners wearing all have 108 beads. Once you’ve opened your eyes to this sacred number you will find it’s present all around you - just like the sacred practice of yoga.
There are amazing teachers out there! What if we could bring them all together on a platform to revive the connection between teacher and student, even in the online world?
This is how oneOeight was born. We offer high quality video content from renown guides such as Simon Park, Meghan Currie, Kimberly Snyder, and Colleen Saidman to name a few. Videos and blogs will be uploaded weekly and available to everyone. Whether you are just taking the first steps on the path to wellness of if you have years of yoga experience, this will be a place for you to call home.
Our designers are working with us to bring something unique to bring our global community together. Here's a sneak peak.
The site has four houses; four categories geared towards different areas of your life. The first house is called MOVE.
MOVE is everything centered around the physical yoga practice and movement of the body. Here we offer our subscribers high-quality online yoga classes with teachers of various backgrounds. We have a team of expert teachers ready to guide you and hundreds of hours of classes already filmed and ready to go.
The second house is called CALM and centers around meditation and healing. Here we offer coaching in all aspects of life and especially urgent areas where you might need support. On the team we have grief counselors, eating disorder therapists, body image experts, life coaches, meditation guides and revered healers of many different kinds.
NOURISH, the third house, revolves around anything and everything that nourishes the body. Here you can delve deeper into learning about the food that you eat, nutrition, cooking and all things nourishment.
EXPLORE is the fourth and final house of the platform, and this is where we bring the online world back to real, actual life. Through our worldwide network, Explore offers a huge database filled with yoga teachers, studios, therapists, and healers present in your local area so that you can weave your practice into your own community. It’s in a studio, guided by the hands of experienced teachers, that true transformation happens.
If you like what we’re doing but can’t contribute right now, you can share this campaign and use #oneOeight everywhere. Our gratitude will be yours forever. We can’t wait to begin this journey with you.
Transport yourself to the Caribbean. Watch a video describing the backer-only Secret Caribbean Dream Retreat. Join us in paradise!
To make all of this happen, we need your pledge! $108,000 will cover the startup costs and first month of operation. To sustain oneOeight, you can share this campaign with your special network in the world to increase contributions and subscriptions. We've worked hard to produce something of value to everyone, but oneOeight won't reach its full healing ability without you. This Kickstarter campaign is my way to bring our relationship to the next level so that we can build this platform – together.

Risks and challenges
The challenge in making oneOeight a place for anyone, anywhere is having a vast variety of videos for people of all levels. The passionate and dedicated oneOeight team of instructors have banded together to build a production team who can handle the mission. We’ve already filmed videos and have poured lots of love, sweat and yoga into this project to make sure we can build something for everyone. Your contributions to the project will make SURE we change the world. The only risk is getting blown away by supporters who then break the internet come day of launch. In which case… It wasn’t us.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
