Again thanks to all my friends and supporters who helped me! So much art will be made, stay tuned!

update 8/30 -
7 days to go...
Good news: So I think I've found my art studio to create my colossi in! And they have a 3 night open studios in october! I hope very soon to be apart of http://somaartiststudios.com/! If I confirm a spot there, I will invite any local backers to come out and see my studio/art/progress during the open studios! If you chose reward "day with the artist" a studio tour will be part of it.
Bad news: It's $400 a month and 6month lease initially... this kickstarter will only get me through 70% of that maybe, while still not cutting into my supplies/rewards budget. Unless I hit 400%. I already feel like I'm asking too much. If I hit that goal however it will make this less trouble for me, if not I hope to sell some smaller works and colossi prints during the open studios.
Meanwhile Artemis, http://www.artemis.fm/, and I are currently plotting some sort of musical collaboration for the Colossi! If you've backed me you'll get up to date info on this, possibly even early listen before anyone else too!

update 8/24 -
Thanks to your amazing support I am now on a hunt for an art studio, this will allow me the space and the focus to work on more than one of the paintings at once, and other projects... Speaking of which, here are some smaller works I've done over this past month.

I will probably find a small space or cafe to show these, since the Colossi will take some time to complete. The hope is to have a show within a year. I am anxious to get started.
If I am continued to be backed before this kickstarter ends, the money will go towards future and smaller side projects I'm working on. I may even look into poster sized prints of each Colossi painting to sell online. Again, thank you so much!

update 8/13 -
Wow! Over 250% backed! You know what that means?

There is going to be 12th colossi painting on 36"X48". That would be a total of two pieces at 36"X48, the other ten at "24x48". So a total of 12 paintings, the first is completed so... that's a lot of art. It's also looking likely that I'll be investing in an art studio for a few months too!

update 8/10 -
I made my 200% goal! That means 11 Colossi paintings will be created! WooT! Oh I've added a reward combo and lowered the two highest rewards a bit. Thank you guys so much! This has really been an incredibly motivating and humbling experience! <3

update 8/7 -

Thank you all for your overwelming support!!! I never thought I'd reach (actually pass) my goal for kickstarter before the first day ended! But I still have 30 more days, and I really want to continue this kickstarter exposure, because I want to inspire as much as I can.
So, my bonus goals:
200% ($2000) Means 5 more paintings! Making a total of 11 colossi paintings for my series. This doubles the amount of prints to be made too.
300% ($3000) means I'll invest in an art studio here in san francisco. Studio space is expensive in this city, this is why I've made it low on my list, but it would mean a higher turn out of art, I won't be destroying my apartment as much with paint, and feel more like a professional artist.
beyond that... music album collaboration with some friends of mine based on the art series, renting my own space to show my work, possibly taking the series on tour... these are ideas I'm just scratching at.
The Colossi are coming to life... what they do beyond that is up to you all.
Again, thank you. <3

The Story:
Hello. My name is Trista Musco, some of you may know my as QtRNevermore on the web, and I create art.
Some of my biggest inspirations lately are the works of dave mckean, ben templesmith, and yoshitaka amano.
They've taught complete realism is not required to form new mythologies & convey emotion. Each artist embraces their individual style.
My friends too have inspired and encouraged me. They recognize that art is still important to our rapidly evolving world.
I've spent my entire life drawing, trying new mediums, searching for a personal style that suits me.
I make art almost every day.
In spring 2012 I had my first solo show. These past few years I've rarely shown and sold my art to the public, so this experience of
getting myself recognized as an artist is still very new and very scary to me. But I know it's what I was meant to do.
After my show ended, I started on these sketches that I've dubbed "the Colossi" and came to the conclusion that I needed to make
this a series of paintings. Larger, more colorful, more time consuming, than any work I've done ever. In May of this year
I started on the first of the series and have since completed it, but here's where you come in. I need your help funding the creation
of five other pieces.
Each planned piece is 48” tall and 24” wide, with one of these pieces at 36” wide. They are painted on birch panels with watercolors (in tubes) and detailed with a fine point pen (so many pens). I have very little experience with watercolors and working at this scale, so it’s an exciting challenge on many levels for me.
This money goes towards supplies ($400), time I may need away from work ($200), prints ($200), and reward supplies ($200). If my goal is reached, there will be rewards as listed, prints of each Colossi, a future solo show, and perhaps many more after. If I raise more than requested it will go towards an art studio,
(as I am presently painting in my bedroom), more rewards will be conjured, possibly additions to this series or other art projects I hope to complete before the year is out.
The colossi are a story you convey as the observer. help me bring them to life. thanks <3
