About this project
“So don't expect the end of the world to come one day out of the blue -- it's been happening every day for a long time.” - Marilyn Manson
Here's The Story:
Damon ______ is a 40 page one-shot comic about the exploits of an alien nomad in his never-ending war against the leaders of his immortal race. They've been stranded on Earth for the last two centuries, and have been methodically plotting to take control of humanity ever since. Their crimes and actions vary in scale depending on their intention, but are always staged in a way to make it look like we are destroying ourselves through our own behavior.
Most of the time our main character simply goes by the name of Damon, which is nomad spelled backwards. When needed, he adds a last name to that which is the reason for the “________” section of the logo.
If you're a fan of shows like DOCTOR WHO or PERSON OF INTEREST, then you should definitely check this out!
I don't want to spoil the plot of our first issue, but check out this five page preview to get a general feel of the tone we're going for.
The Creative Team:
Writer: Quinton Miles’s work has been featured in a number of licensed video games from developer Oasys Mobile, including iCarly Mobile (with Nickelodeon), Mafia II Mobile (with Take Two Interactive) and Army Men: Mobile Ops (with Take Two Interactive).
Pencils: A graduate in design from Algarve University in Portugal, Miguel Mendonça is an extremely talented artist that has always had a bond with comics and art.
Inks: Matt Santorelli is a New York based freelance inker.
Colors: Cecilia de la Cruz is freelance colorist based in Mexico.
Letters and Logo: Martín A. Pérez, also known as MaGnUs, is a freelance writer and letterer that publishes the webcomic “My Life Without a Jetpack” (http://nojetpack.thecomicstrip.org/comics/).
The plan right now is to have this one-shot act as a pilot issue and get it in the hands of YOU, the audience, as soon as possible. We're also looking to talk to retailers, publishers and digital platforms to spread a wide net. All funds raised will go directly towards the production costs to complete (paying the artist, letterer and colorist), market (Facebook ads, press releases, etc.), and publish the book in print and on various eBook outlets (iBookstore, Android Market, Kindle, Nook via Graphic.ly).
The potential for this series has the entire creative team extremely excited, and with your help, we can make it happen. Thanks!
International pledges, please add an additional $5 for shipping costs.
