So at what point did you get exiled to the gulags of Canada?

(Not that I'm complaining, backing in Canadian dollars is effectively a discount after all)

(cont) That said, we absolutely appreciate the continuing relevance of this setting and subject matter to living persons. For the same reasons we are moved to be careful, we appreciate, and respect, that this game will not be for everyone. Our primary goal (in this and everything) is to do no harm.

Wasiu: Rutskarn here with a few clarifications:

When we say "dark humor," most of it is drawn from the anti-Soviet jokes of the era. Day one's research was perusing a translation (compiled by team members) of contemporary Estonian KGB jokes.

With LttP, we want to move in the opposite direction of games like Red Alert and Wolfenstein that depict fascists as comic book villains. The KGB are obviously and pointlessly evil in our game, as in real life, but we want to do our best to depict the realities of choices faced by contemporaries.

Which is why our pitch to this point, as well as all story outlines, have been under open review by individuals who lived through the place and time period LttP centers around. Don't think for a moment we aren't taking this seriously.

Yes, let's warm the image of KGB up. Also, next game should be about poor misguided Gestapo agent and the story of "the oppressed during the dying days of the III Reich"..with lots of "dark humor" and the camaraderie of "fellow Gestapo agents".
