About this project
Do you love competitive puzzle games? Super Puzzle Fighter? Maybe Dr. Mario? Yeah, us too! We think the world needs more, and with your help we can make the next great fighting puzzle game!
Robo Puzzle Smash is a fighting puzzle game with a cool literal twist. Match up colored blocks to send attacks to your opponent, then rotate the entire playfield to set up huge combos.
It's a mind bending puzzle game like nothing else you've ever played.
Robo Puzzle Smash was designed to be played competitively
While on its surface it looks simple, advanced techniques make the game deeper than you might expect. We run tournaments at conventions we go to and it's crazy fun!
Get access to the beta just by pledging at the Combo level or higher! Play before everyone else and get a leg up on the tournament competition!
Robot Puzzle Smash has been featured in Otakon's Indie showcase, Boston FIG, and MAGFest Indie Game Showcase. We even won a Best Technology award at Game-A-Con!
We're a scrappy, dedicated group of game makers. Pxlplz has shipped several other games (including the highly rated puzzle platformer Star Saver for iOS).

Featuring character designs by Iva Seow (did I mention she worked on art for Street Fighter V?) you'll find a favorite character to kick butt with.
All the robots play, and attack with their own colors; some with only 3 (better at large drops) and some with up to 5 (better at smaller attacks).
The star of Solo Sentai DX, a popular video game series in the robot world. He is aware of his fame, though he isn't a jerk about it. One of the greatest swordsbots in the kingdom, he is loyal to The Princess and will do anything to fulfill her wishes, even if it means getting ahold of the VoxSpark itself.
Mitsuko is a tough-as-nails San Botcisco resident. She’s a fiercely confident, bordering-on-cocky, military bot. She has little patience for anything she deems a waste of time or she perceives as in her way. Nothing comes easy for Mitsuko, and having fought her whole existence, she desires peace and wants to use the VoxSpark to that end.
Paco, short for Apocalypse Rex, is easy going and has a natural charisma. He was fired from his job as a stage performer at a popular children’s pizza parlor. His time spent as a performer left him yearning to be in charge of the whole operation, though he is strangely embarrassed by his love for the pizza industry.
As a mega-successful pop star, Persephone is at the top of the robot food chain, and she knows it. She believes she was built to be better. She masks her superiority in condescending kindness. Still, she sometimes wonder what being out of the spotlight would be like...
Xerxes is the ruler of The Underworld, a (literal) underground robot society that’s slightly separated from the society on the surface. He is hundreds of years old and has been gathering data for centuries, but this data has mostly been gathered underground, so he is largely out of touch with the mainstream surface society.
When The Magical Robot Forest was seized by the Robot Peacekeeping Force for development, Robear and his family were forcibly-yet-amicably displaced. Robear misses the tranquility of the forest, so it’s up to him to find a way to right the wrong perpetrated by the RPF and get his home back.
We already have a great start on development and have been showing it at conventions for almost 2 years. We've gotten awesome feedback and a lot of love at the shows we've taken it to. We need your help on the final push to get the game finished and have a successful launch.
Development and test hardware is expensive (our release plans include PS4, Nintendo Switch, Mac, PC, and others). Marketing and attending conventions is expensive. Art and music is expensive. This is your chance to help support an awesome game and get some really cool limited edition promo items in the process!
We've been working on Robo Puzzle Smash for over two years now, and with your help we can finish and have a successful launch.
Part of the money we raise will go towards finishing game content, including art, music, a cool intro, and endings for each character! The more we raise the longer we can keep people working on polish.
Part of the money will go towards producing physical promotional goods (physical copies, soundtracks, etc).
Funds will also go towards PR and Marketing support, including taking the game to conventions and running tournaments. It's expensive to attend cons, and you can help us show at more events and build awareness.
If we hit our stretch goals we can add cool features like alternate character skins, remixed music, and ports to home consoles.
Risks and challenges
We know we won't be able to ship for all platforms at once. We'll need to focus on one platform first (probably PC) and stagger our releases. It's very risky to try and release on all platforms at once. It's possible that some platforms may be dropped or added. We'll stay very active to let you know any changes to platforms that may take place. Please be patient and understanding.
It's possible that finishing development may take longer than expected. We are trying to launch in Spring of 2017 but there may be delays.
We will need First Party approval for console development like Nintendo Switch and PS4. Members of our team has shipped games for Nintendo and Sony platforms before, but it's possible that this may delay a release unexpectedly.
Regions other than US may (and probably will) ship later, because we have to localize and get approval in other regions.
Finally, if we are wildly successful and end up hitting our launch party stretch goal, we might have to cap attendance.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
