Power Up Gamers: Roleplayers for Accessibility was started by Jarin in 2015 as a Youtube channel in which he could record his game sessions and talk about how having special needs impacted him as a GM and Player. It has since grown into a community and Indie Publishing Company that promotes Accessibility and Inclusiveness for all within the Tabletop RPG Community with a special focus on Individuals with Special Needs.
Within our time as advocates, we have as a Community done several great things including but not limited to:
- Donated over $1,000 to various Charities including the Special Olympics, Child's Play, and RPG Research.
- Help support and promote worthwhile causes such as The DOTS Program.
- Donated over 300 hours of volunteer time to various organizations such as the Special Olympics, Child's Play, Veteran Affairs Programs, local homeless shelters, and more.
L'gat's Tome of Amazing Creatures Volume 3 is the final release in a trilogy set of 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons supplements. While it is produced by Power Up Gamers Roleplayers for Accessibility, the artwork will be done by the talented Fabian Klejewski.
Much like the first and second volumes, we plan on releasing 26 home-brewed and re-skinned monsters with rich lore, culture, and history sections, several tables including a d100 Faction roll table, and a section containing 12 locations with sights, sounds, and sensations specifically designed to cater to individuals with Special Needs. Each Location will also have a trap and a puzzle or a riddle along with monsters from the Volume that might be found there. The Supplement will have a full color cover with black ink sketches of the monsters inside.
We currently have 3 Stretch Goals planned.
Risks and challenges
Given that we were successful with our first two Kickstarter campaigns and releasing the product as promised, we are more experienced now with the work that is necessary to complete a project in a timely manner.
We had several challenges to overcome in our previous Kickstarter Campaigns and have implemented some procedures to help ensure that these challenges will not become an issue with the Third Kickstarter.
The first Challenge was communication among team members. To ensure this doesn't become an issue, we have implemented Video Calls at a minimum rate of 3 nights a week. This ensures that all team members are on the same mindset with what needs to be done. In addition, we have implemented a weekly check-in via email for the Artist and other Consultants.
The Second Challenge was with Finding playtesters and time to playtest the monsters as thoroughly as we would have liked. To help resolve this issue, we have joined a Facebook Group that revolves around playtesting material, implemented a weekly Saturday Night Gaming Group and Session, and will be running various one-shot sessions until the last two weeks before the release on Oct.11, 2019.
The third and hardest Challenge was a delay in Physical Rewards being delivered. This was caused mostly by a change in our suppliers and their methods of conducting business. To ensure this doesn't become an issue, we plan on placing orders earlier than the previous times and to keep in better communication via emails to our suppliers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
