Psychiatrist the Game is both easy and fun, allowing anyone to play & enjoy it for hours on end! The game starts when the group chooses a Psychiatrist. He or she must then leave the room while the group draws a card.
Each card will list 2 symptoms - as a group, choose the symptom you'd like to play, and call the Psychiatrist back in. Remember, everyone in the group has the same symptom.
The Psychiatrist then asks the group different questions - these questions can be as generic or as detailed as you'd like! Whoever is being asked the question must then respond by blending in the symptom they chose.
For example, let's pretend that you think you are Darth Vader:
Once the Psychiatrist catches on, he or she can diagnose the symptom! If the Psychiatrist guesses the symptom correctly, the round is over, and a new Psychiatrist is chosen to leave the room!
Psychiatrist the Game can be played casually AND competitively, assuring there is something for everyone! Learn more about the different modes below:
In the free for all version, one Psychiatrist must diagnose the entire group. This casual mode is perfect for families and friends who just want to hang out without keeping score! A new Psychiatrist is chosen at the beginning of each round. Play to your heart's content!
In the team version, players divide into two teams and each choose a Psychiatrist, who leaves the room. Once the entire group has decided on a symptom, the Psychiatrists return and began asking the opposite team questions in order to diagnose the symptom. The two teams answer the questions honestly while making it as cryptic as possible - remember, you don't want to help the other Psychiatrist get the answer correctly! The two teams choose a new Psychiatrist each round, and the first team to 10 wins!
Throughout the game, you'll find that each symptom is placed into one of four categories. These categories help determine what the symptom is - Personality usually means you need to pretend you're someone else, Actions normally require you do something while answering the question, Words present phrases that you must work into your answer and Situations present you with strange, off the wall scenarios that would likely never happen!
Each card comes with 2 symptoms, allowing anyone to be able to find a symptom they love! Additionally, the Personality, Words and Sitaution cards have examples, just in case you don't quite understand the symptom! Check out a few examples below!
Check out an example below:
Psychiatrist the Game has over 300 symptoms across over 150 different cards! Each symptom is placed into 4 categories, which includes 1) words, 2) personality, 3) actions and 4) situations! If you have a symptom that you think would be a fit, either send us a message or leave it directly in the comments!
If we end up using your symptom, we'll be sure to credit you on the card!

Risks and challenges
We have already released several games with the help of both Kickstarter and traditional funding. As such, we have established relationships with the best contacts in the business, assuring smooth manufacturing, fulfillment and more! The game is fully developed, though we are always willing to work with local players to make it better. Our manufacturer is just standing by, waiting for a payment to get started with mass manufacturing - and that's why we've come to Kickstarter. This campaign will fund the initial copies and we hope to bring many more copies in the future!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
