Help Prynt keep improving — tell us what YOU think!

Posted by Prynt (Creator)

Hey Prynt backers!

How are you all? Things have been wild here at Prynt HQ lately. We’re pushing out lots of new features, but we also want to let you know that you are still our faves!

You’ve been part of our journey since the start and that means so much to all of us. We’ve been listening to your feedback and working hard to improve every aspect of the product, but we also want to hear more, so check out the survey at the end of this update for a chance to tell us what you think!

In the meantime, we have some updates that will make using your Prynt Case even more awesome! If you haven’t used Prynt in a while, make sure you download the latest version of our app (on the App Store or Google Play) to see the following:

1. Even better battery life!

We released a new firmware update last week that improves battery life even more! To install it, just connect the Prynt Case to your phone, turn it on, and play around with it until you see the pop-up letting you know the firmware update is available. You can also now check your Prynt Case's battery level when it’s charging; just connect your phone and open the app menu to see the status.

2. Bye-bye little white line

Okay, you know that little white border on one side of your Prynts? We finally fixed it! Install the firmware update to see that change, too.

3. New feature: add a GIF to any Prynt

Instead of being asked to record a video when you select a photo from your gallery, you can now choose awesome animations to express your feelings about the moment! Here's how it works:

Pretty cool, right?

Reminder: if your photos are still printing too dark, tap the camera screen to adjust the brightness manually before taking a picture. You can also adjust the brightness after shooting with the edit tool.

Important: if you still haven’t received your Prynt Case, please contact us at this link as soon as possible. Everyone should have gotten them by now, but we are aware of issues with deliverability internationally. Just let us know at this link and we will get back to you asap!

We hope these updates really improve your experience. We also want to keep getting better, and we need your feedback to do that, so here’s a quick survey where you can tell us all your feelings!

Please let us know if you have any other questions (please use our support website for the fastest reply). We’ll be working away, and hope to have even more great news to share with you soon!

Started from the bottom, now we're on the App Store!

Posted by Prynt (Creator)

Hey Prynt Family!

How have you all been? We’re thrilled to announce that we’re officially in the App Store for iOS! If we could cheers our champagne glasses right now with each one of you, we would! Now that the Prynt is in the App store, you can share your favorite moments easily with whomever, and whenever you like! It’s simple - just share the physical Prynt with a friend and once they download the Prynt App, they will be able to watch the hidden message!

Before downloading Prynt from the App Store, make sure to delete the previous version to avoid confusion. This will be the only time it’s necessary to delete the previous version. And don’t worry, your Prynt photos will all still be there when you access “My Prynts.”

Besides the way easier download and update process, we’re excited to announce a few major upgrades and fixes that will make your Prynt experience that much better...

1. No more dark Prynts

To banish dark Prynts, we’ve implemented a solution that we think will make you all very happy! Just tap the camera screen to focus and adjust the brightness manually by sliding up or down!

2. Turn your Prynt Case on/off

Improving the battery life on the Prynt Case has been one our major goals these past few weeks. With the new update, you’ll be able to power your Prynt off simply by removing your smartphone. *angels sing*

3. Private Prynts

By default, your Prynt photos are set to public, which means anyone who has the Prynt App can scan your physical photo. Want to keep your video private? Just tap the lock icon after printing and your photo can only be scanned by you!

4. Get more paper from anywhere in the world

Live somewhere we don’t ship to directly? Now you can order paper through our app and be redirected to Amazon, through which we’re able to ship worldwide!

In addition to these improvements, we’ve been working on a super suave walkthrough. As a token of our appreciate for your guys’ support, we’d like to give you guys an exclusive first look.

What do you guys think?

Improvements to the Prynt app coming soon!

Posted by Prynt (Creator)

Hey Prynt Fam!

Hope this finds you all enjoying your day and your time with Prynt! We’re beyond proud (and a bit teary-eyed), to see and hear all of the wonderful pictures and feedback after shipping out nearly 15,000 Prynt Cases all over the world.

Needless to say, we’re almost as excited as this guy.

Our absolute favorite part of the day is seeing all your Prynt photos come to life! Prynt photos simply aren’t “basic” (for lack of a better word), they’re more than that. Every picture is a truly a window into the moment, and a reminder to always own the moment.

Keep sharing videos of your Prynt in action and use hashtag #ownthemoment so we can continue to share the excitement.

So, let’s get to it. Improvements to Prynt —what can you expect in the near future?

1. Prynt on the App Store! As you know, the Prynt app is still in beta, but not for long! To be more exact, we’re less than a month away from our App Store release. We’ll be sure to notify you exactly when it happens :)

2. Improvement in the overall quality of your Prynt photos. Through reading your feedback, we understand that some photos are printing darker than they appear on screen. This is due to a camera exposure limitation, and we’re working on a software solution that will be included in the first app update (set to be released in about a month).

Aside from photo quality, we’re also working on making additional changes to the app that we'll implement in future updates. These include allowing you to delete photos from “My Prynts” and changing the privacy options on previously printed photos.

3. Better power management and light indicators. Right now, the only way to turn off your Prynt Case is to unplug your phone and remove the adapter. The solution, set to be released in our firmware update next month, will improve the overall battery life of the case. This will also allow you to turn off the Prynt Case simply by unplugging your phone. Way easier, right? In addition, several improvements to the light indicators, which will make it easier to detect whether your case is low on power, charging or fully charged.

4. Print from a video saved on your phone. We’ve seen you all get really creative with the videos hidden inside each photo, and we want to enhance that experience by giving you even more control over the content you share. We can’t wait to see what you guys do with this.

5. New editing tools. In addition, we’re adding new editing tools, as we’ve received a high volume of requests for even more filters, borders and stickers. Hoping to make that available in our first update as well.

All of these fixes and new features will roll out over the next 30 to 60 days, and we’ll push that update through the App Store, as well as notify you here and in-app. Keep an eye out!

We love you guys!

Happy almost-Christmas! More shipments rolling out this week

Posted by Prynt (Creator)

Dear Backers,

Happy almost-Christmas! As we’ve undertaken the near-herculean challenge of delivering a crowd-funded hardware product in less than 10 months, we’re pretty thrilled to say that nearly every reward is in the process of being fulfilled :)

Yes, we know know we’re late, and we regret that. Did you know that, on average, 84% of Kickstarter projects are late? We didn’t either, but even really big hardware projects like Pebble and Oculus were over six months late. This is not an excuse, but just to say that we now know we were probably a little too optimistic when we gave our timelines. We also realize that not everyone has received the Kickstarter updates along the way, and some backers felt in the dark about the delays. For that, we’re sorry too. We are grateful to you all for sticking with us!

The good news is, as stated, we are shipping and Prynt Cases are arriving all over the world as you read this! Black Prynt Cases shipped first, and white Prynt Cases are shipping starting this week. Unfortunately, all of the pink and blue cases are behind schedule because it took much longer to get the colors right on those. Anyone affected by this should have received an email. Again, we apologize and are happy to listen to any and all of your yelling about it, just direct it towards:

In other news, you may have seen some backers already sharing pics of their Prynts — awesome! Here are a few of our faves:

We want each and every one of you to have a really merry holiday. We’ll be online every day to offer support via email and social media as needed and will also try to find some time to toast all you’ve helped us accomplish.

We know you haven’t all received your Prynt Cases yet but we also know that all of them are on their way! For us, this is huge! Of course we’ll be happier when all of you have them, but for the most part, all that’s left now is shipping. That part’s easy compared to everything else!

And yes, we do have new orders for sale on our website, but rest assured that, other than those colors which are delayed, you all will receive yours first.

Thinking back to this time last year, Prynt was still an idea. In progress, gestating, but not yet a reality. Since we launched our Kickstarter campaign in January, you’ve turned our idea into a fully-functioning product! Seeing the photos of Prynt arrive at your homes has been AMAZING. It’s real and it’s here! We’re so thrilled, and still super sad about those who still have not received them, but look for a LOT of new orders shipping very soon! Please be patient, we’re almost there. And we couldn’t have done it without you.

We love you guys!

Happy holidays,
Team Prynt

We are shipping!!

Posted by Prynt (Creator)

Helloooooo backers!!

How is everyone? We have been working really hard to give all of you the best Christmas gift ever and today we have great news: our production line is up and running and we are shipping!

What does that mean? Thousands of products are leaving our factory every week, with batches of different colors being shipped to our fulfillment centers and then to you! Some of our Early Birds are already receiving their products!

It took us a bit longer to get the colors on the blue and pink cases right, so they’re coming off the production line last, and we apologize if any of those don’t make it on time for the holidays. Every reward will leave our fulfillment center before Christmas, but the day that they arrive at your doorstep will vary based on your location.

Please note, each of you will receive an email from us with the tracking information for your shipment as soon as it is in process!

Here are some photos from Korea of the latest action:

Of course, shipping is not the end of the journey. Now we have to get those products through customs, and make sure that Apple approves our app on time.

The Prynt app is complete though, and thanks to a group of dedicated beta testers, we’ve been working hard debugging and making it perfect for all of you!

So what’s next? Well, we wanted to answer a few of the questions we’ve gotten from you all over the last month, and thought who better to do so than our CEO, Clément Perrot!

Take it away, Clem:

Hoping everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
