Chicken Run is a simple collection game that takes strategy, a little bit of luck, and a whole lot of fun.
Here are the facts: There's chickens, roosters, and feed. Each player tries to pair four chickens of the same color along with a rooster and feed to complete a Chicken Run.
The game is fast paced- compete against other players to fill your chicken coops and complete your runs- the first to reach ten points wins. But watch out for action cards though as other players can steal or eat your chickens right from your coop.
While Chicken Run is simple, it is full of energy and excitement that develops as players attack one another with varmints, protect their coops from attacks with guard dogs, and trade with other players for the cards they need to complete a Chicken Run.
Chicken Run can be enjoyed with 2-5 players, and we recommend ages 7 and up.
Wondering what the Super Duper (not so) Secret Surprise gift is? Wonder no more!
The more money we raise, the more money will have to make Chicken Run even better, and that means room for bonuses! Here's what Kickstarter backers can expect as the first two available stretch goals:
The company we ended up going with is a company who has offices in both the US and China, so we can leverage speaking with someone in our time zone and really connecting well with us, while also gaining the affordability of printing in China. I promise, Print Ninja isn’t paying us to say this, they just genuinely have a great service.
We are just four friends out chasing a dream, a dream of developing a game and a dream of developing a business of our own. We have brainstormed several exciting ideas for games, however, this is the first one we have actually set out to produce. We can't wait to see Chicken Run on shelves and in homes, with people enjoying the game as much as we have enjoyed creating it.
So how did we get here? Simply put, we started with an idea around a kitchen table, made a prototype, and tested it over and over again. Once we started showing the game to others, we received overwhelming support and feedback and knew the next step was clear: we wanted to produce and sell the game.
As it turns out, it's kinda expensive to create your own game- who would have thought?
We initially weighed all options we could think of: we looked at self-funding, selling equity, and even a small business loan to get the game to you. Despite how much we love and believe in our product, we did not have the funds or means necessary to place the first order ourselves.
That's where YOU come in.
By meeting our goal of $5,000 we will have enough capital to place our first order of Chicken Run and see our dream become a reality. By backing us on Kickstarter you will be entitled to exclusive artwork, plus any additional stretch goal rewards and a discount from buying it MSRP. While we would be so happy just to meet our campaign goal, every dollar we raise above and beyond our campaign goal will help ensure that that Chicken Run is successful and that Pround Games can continue to bring you fun games to play in the future.
Pround Games is a locally owned and operated custom card and board game company based out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
In no particular order, the owners and founders of Pround Games are: Josh Campbell, Brennan Clark, Bryan Todd, and Cameron Frank. The four of us all come from diverse backgrounds, but all bring great traits (okay, some aren't so great) to the table that has gotten us to where we are today. The four of us all grew up in different cities but have been close friends for several years now. We all share the same vision and dream for this game and are extremely grateful for your support.
We would love to talk with you. Please connect with us through social media or our website.
Risks and challenges
Chicken Run is our first game. While we consider ourselves creative and competent individuals, we have been learning the process of creating a game as we go. This has been a fun, but challenging process. So far, we have learned that it is much more expensive to create a game than we thought - that is why we need your help. It is also very complicated to ship items that sell via Kickstarter to places around the world due to customs, taxes, and inconsistent shipping rates that could make things extremely expensive. Bear with us as we work through the process of creating an EU Friendly game; currently, however, we are only shipping to the US.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
