Thank you everyone who helped make the Lumi-Cord Beta a resounding success!

Thank you for taking the time to consider joining our exciting beta test of a new creative lighting andnight-time visibility material!
For many months our small 3D Printing company has been developing 3D Printer compatible, high intensity, long duration photoluminescent materials. As development progressed we knew we had stumbled onto a material that had general purpose application far beyond 3D Printers and had unique potential within the various creative collectives.
With many, many days and nights of hard work and determination we are finally ready to put the call out for any and all adventurers willing to help us bring a battery-free and versatile, EL Wire alternative to the world.
This small elastic cord emits a beautiful bioluminescent blue light all night and is powered only by ambient light collected and stored throughout the day.
The standard burnout intensity is detectable for more than a day and clearly visible all night given only minimal access to low level light during the day. In this way you can be creative, safe, and seen all week without ever plugging in or turning on.
You want to be more than seen? Brief exposure to intense light from sources like the sun, standard fluorescents or black-light generates a brilliant long lasting discharge before gradually returning to its standard strength over the course of a couple of hours. The intensity is impressive even in daytime shade and nothing short of astonishing at night.
For those that attend the annual Burning Man festival, we'll be making your night-time romps even brighter by partnering with multiple camps to place black-light charging stations strategically throughout Black Rock City. Just a few seconds charging is all it takes. Having too much fun to juice up? No matter, you'll still be seen from the light picked up during the day.
The material is non-toxic, waterproof, and can be cut, woven or braided like ordinary string.
Freedom from batteries, wires and reactive chemicals means more expression and less waste. Juice your creative lobe like never before.
We are so excited to have finally made this material beta-test ready but we need your help for the final hurdle.
We absolutely love working with this material and we think you will to.
You can help us never stop improving by being a part of our beta/stress test. Your feedback and creative applications will guide our decisions in the last leg of development.
Additionally, your pledges will help us move through the beta stage of this project by helping fund additional materials, equipment. A successful campaign will allow us to leverage our remaining assets and materials so we can get it into the hands of creators.
As this materials development was driven specifically from our time spent at creative festivals like Burning Man, we can't think of a better place or group of people to help us explore and create than Black Rock City and You. Not attending the Burning Man festival? You can still be a part of our beta by pledging to THE SPIRIT OF THE FIRE which will ship to you in the beginning of September. Join us to bring another light to the Playa, and later the world.
Thank you for reading our story, we hope you'll be a part of it.
Risks and challenges
Our biggest challenge is spreading the word and reaching as many people as we can in such a short time. We have just over two weeks to get Burners everywhere as excited as we are about this amazing material. Face to face, that's easy, anyone who sees it is nothing short of amazed. Please, become part of the story and tell those you know. We really think you'll be happy you did.
You might imagine it would be a challenge to produce enough material in time to have plenty to gift and save for backers, but we're not worried about this and don't think you should be either. We produced all the material seen in the photos and are ready to get to work making more. We have a bit more of the raw material on-hand and have more already on the way to us. We will begin this pre-production run as soon as this Kickstarter is launched. We will give regular updates on production so you can evaluate how it's going.
The only risks we can imagine are travel or Burning Man related calamities. Because we'll be doing much of the work during the Kickstarter, if anything were to go wrong during production that could keep us from fulfilling rewards, we would be able to inform everyone of the situation and could either come up with alternative plans or cancel the project if need be. As a backer, you will be well informed of our status throughout the production phase of the project.
