TALES FROM the OLD BLACK AMBULANCE...
The Perfect Holiday Gift for the horror / dark speculative fiction lover!
Black Ambulance is an anthology about hearses and the end of life... The roots of this project run back several years—to a cold, bleak afternoon when our publisher was driving and the phrase Tales From the Old Black Ambulance crept unbidden into his mind. "Sounds like an anthology," he muttered and kept driving. But the bug kept biting, and in 2017 he set in motion the gathering of stories about "graveyards, cemeteries, morgues, mortuaries, mausoleums, funerary rites, and, of course, hearses..." Fast forward a year and we have a fantastic slate of stories—about creepy hearses, talking hearses, tricked-out hearses, ghostly hearses, high-tech mausoleums, cursed stoves, a Great Hunt, ghost hunters, clowns, cemetery exploration, facing fear, witches, the dead who don't know it, and a suffering freak who can't die—all from nineteen fantastic authors:

WHO WE ARE
Established in 2015, Prospective Press is a vigorous small press specializing in fantasy, horror, and other speculative fiction. Among our thirty-plus books, we have published three anthologies to date—all in the Off the Beaten Path series.
Tales From the Old Black Ambulance is our first crowd-funded project—with the goal of paying the authors a decent rate for their stories. Should we be so honored as to exceed our goal, these extra funds will help us pay the authors a higher amount. So please, support these fine authors, buy a copy, and help spread the word about Black Ambulance!
If successful, this project will go to principal editing and design in January 2019. Page proofs—for those who support the Sneak Peek—will be ready no later than May 2019, and the finished books will ship in June 2019 except for signed editions, which could take up till September 2019 due to gathering signatures. If things go smoothly and we get the book done sooner, we will notify supporters and ship their books early!
This project is all about getting great stories to readers and supporting the authors! To that end, over 80% of the money raised will go directly to the authors. And, of course, Kickstarter will get their cut of ~10%. The remaining funds will be used for advertising and to defray any other expenses.
Jason T. Graves is the publisher and editor-in-chief at Prospective Press, and the series editor for the Off the Beaten Path series of anthologies. He is also the author of four novels, but has valiantly sacrificed most of his time to make ProP and its authors as successful as possible.
The cover and video were put together by ARTE RAVE, our in-house art team. The cover is photo manipulation and is composed of elements from several stock photographs (© Adobe Stock and the respective rights holders).
Risks and challenges
We've been doing this for a while and have successfully launched over thirty titles, but we recognize that stuff happens. We've built extra time into the schedule and we will make every effort to have the book published and in your hands by June 2019 (September or sooner for print if you purchase a signed copy). We have recruited some fine and talented writers for this anthology, most of whom have already provided their stories. If unforeseen circumstances keep one of the remaining authors from completing their story, we will make every effort to fill their spot with a comparable tale by an equally talented writer.
And if the Earth falls into the sun before we get the book finished, well... enjoy the ride, at least.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
