Animated comedy about two dogs in the dog pound. One of them has to get adopted before the end of the day. Oh no!
POUND DOGS will be an animated comedy about two talking dogs in an animal shelter. They talk about the usual things that pound dogs discuss, like smelling things, eating cat poo, and getting adopted someday. Until they discover that Blue Dog has to be adopted by the end of the day, or he'll be put to sleep!
The cartoon characters will be made out of clay. The voice performers will include comedians Ryan Williams and Sean Parrott, as well as singer Samantha Newark (who played Jem & Jerrica on the animated "Jem" series), filmmaker/music producer/songwriter/ singer Steve Taylor, and Andy Merrill (Brak from "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" and other Adult Swim cartoons).
By supporting this production, you will be helping to provide the audio for this production! And some of the animation materials. Animator/director Mike Salva will be contributing the animation... but since this trend in adding sound to motion pictures is probably here to stay, your help is needed to get the sound on this cartoon. Audio recording/editing, studio time, background music, sound effects and the like do not come free, and that's why we're asking you for your help!
This is your chance to be part of the big-time showbiz world! Backer rewards include your name in a "special thanks" credit at the end of POUND DOGS, or your name listed as an Associate Producer! (Will this impress your friends when the credits roll? Answer: yes.) And all credits will be submitted to the IMDb web site! Alternately, you can choose the name of a friend, loved one, or pet to go in the credits! (The cartoon's about animal shelter pets, remember?)
HERE IS A REALLY EXCITING BACKER REWARD: a 15-minute Skype Session with Samantha Newark! Have a one-on-one talk with the voice of "Jem" & "Jerrica" from the Jem animated TV series!
Other backer rewards include a DVD copy of the cartoon, high-quality printed stills from the cartoon, or a ringtone of Ryan & Sean barking like dogs. (Your friends will think you're so clever every time you get a call!)
POUND DOGS will probably be under 10 minutes long, to be completed by the end of Summer 2011. It will play in film festivals everywhere, at scifi/comic/nerd conventions, and anyplace else where we can get it shown!
Thanks for your help! And please post this on Facebook, Twitter, and any other computer Internet places that seem to be all the rage these days. Ah, you kids and your computers!
So what's it gonna take to get you to HELP OUT THE POUND DOGS?!
