Extract 237 is a first person/third person Sci-Fi adventure survival game set inside a massive creature. You play as Dr Winters a lone survivor from the creatures attack on her research vessel. As you try to survive and escape from the creature’s innards, you meet other characters and encounter strange monsters that inhabit the darkest depths.
Over the past 6 months we've put together a 3rd person game demo using Unreal Engine. Our focus has been on creating an immersive world where the character can explore and discover the origin of a mysterious creature known only as Extract 237. Now we want to take it to the next level. With more funds we would be able to complete the story, add the rest of the characters for her to interact with and further develop her ability to affect and alter the environment around her. We need your help to make this game happen.
While searching for her father off the coast of Antarctica, Dr Winters is lost at sea. When she awakens, she is alone and realizes her entire ship is being slowly digested within what appears to be an enormous stomach. Inside the deep pits of the leviathan, she faces many horrific monsters; some of which were once men and women. Desperate to survive, she struggles against a perilous environment and the creatures around her in an attempt to escape to the world she thought she knew.
Nelmcor, a deep drilling and biotech corporation, sends its Bio-Mining and Survey division co-ordinates and orders for exploratory resource retrieval from a newly discovered dormant life form deep in the Atlantic Ocean. Once the teams assess the massive size of the life form, Nelmcor labels it Extract 237 and sends in some executives to oversee its removal from the oceanic crust. The miners load barrels of bacteria into the creature.
As they use the bacteria to extract various ores from its insides, the creature becomes active. It frees the rest of itself from the crust and heads to the surface. It swallows Nelmcor equipment and structure debris and the teams are still trapped inside. At the surface of the ocean, the creature drifts through the waters, swallowing any ships in its path and increasing in size.
While trying to further understand the biological material from within its innards, the teams, through trial and error, realize it’s a parasitic membrane evolving from the bacteria consuming Extract 237. It spreads by consuming and mutating the host from the inside. Now it will take everything for those left behind to make it out alive.
Now that your ship has been consumed by the leviathan, how will you survive? Enemies vary from small sea creatures and other survivors caught within the leviathan to deadly self-defending organisms. Use the environment to your advantage. Fight tooth and nail because you wont always have and easy solution to blast your way out. In some cases when the odds become too great for you to overcome you might be better off running for your life if you can.
Pit-falling it - Cavernous pits, digestive fluids and other obstacles can be challenging for you but for some creatures they might be the solution you've been looking for.
Upgrades - Dr Winter's life sustain suit was only meant for research dives. Throughout the game you will have to scavenge and upgrade your weapons and gear just to survive.
Go home - Create a base by pulling debris together or lock yourself into a container to give yourself some time to catch a breath and patch up.
Run like hell - For some of the smaller critters that come after you it might be possible to outrun them. It would definitely be advised to do so when ammo and suit health is depleted.
Flamethrower blazing - Don’t like the way that parasitically challenged crew member is looking at you? Let him know with some help from Uncle Torchy.

Risks and challenges
As with anything in life there are risks and challenges that need to be overcome. Funding our project will enable us to bring on more developers and dedicate more hours to this project. Without funding our story will end here. And Dr Winters will be stranded forever inside the belly of the beast. With funding you will be able to save her and help us create an experience dedicated to great sci fi storytelling through games.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
